Fallow deserve all the success they are having. They're unbelievably generous with all of their methods. They've open sourced their techniques for free, purely for the love of the food. And although the food isn't the cheapest, for the quality of the food on the plate, it has to be the best value fine dining restaurant in London.

All these Sunday roast videos by Gary had me finally try homemade Yorkshire puddings. They turned out well - now that is as a non-Brit living in the US, so I am sure there is room for improvement. Well done for giving it a go! I'm sure they were excellent. I was born and bred in Yorkshire and I still have the odd disaster with them. The secret is to have the fat in the tin screaming hot when you pour the batter in, as quickly as you can and get the tin back in the oven straight away.
@mattblom39902 күн бұрын
I'm in Canada and my parents are Dutch/German immigrants but even then they learned to cook a killer British Sunday roast growing up with Yorkshires and everything. Honestly, they did a great job compared to some of the excellent roasts I've had at restaurants. Canada having so much British influence means Sunday Roast is quite popular here too.
@TheSecondof518 сағат бұрын
As a Yorkshireman, born and bred, I can say you are on the right track old lad. My Mother showed me how to make the batter when I was eight and I made it every Sunday till I left home. As Kath says have the fat hot enough to scorch the Devil.

Hi Gary, I have been to Fallow as you know, it's one of the best restaurants in London, without a shadow of a doubt. But I have to admit that when seeing the Sunday roast, I really feel tempted to reserve a table for the wife and me a table when we are back from the North of Spain after Christmas. It looked and sounded absolutely amazing, the only thing missing was a glass of a good Rioja or two. Quite sure they did the dairy cow meat Sous Vide and then put a nice crust on it. It makes the beef so concentrated with flavour and extremely tender. The gravy, the roasties, the vegetables all of it looked and sounded, as I said earlier, absolutely amazing. Another fabulous review and made me hungry even though I had my dinner before seeing the review. Based on your review I would give it a 10 out 10 any Sunday of the month. Have an absolutely wonderful rest of your Sunday and only a bit over a week to Christmas 🎄, so hopefully you'll do a couple of Xmas reviews before 🎄. Speak to you before Christmas anyway and I have to stop watching, as when your dipping the sour dough bread in the gravy it makes me jealous!! 😅😅😅 Just kidding! But that something I do as well.

A couple of glasses of a nice Merlot would have gone great with that. Expensive for sure but great quality comes with a price. Hi Gary! Fantastic to see you return to the brilliant Fallow restaurant. When your meal first hit the table, the presentation looked amazing & a good job by Mr CM on the wonderful close-ups of the delicious looking food. Fallow seems like the perfect place for a special occassion. Gorgeous dishes, top quality service & a beautiful restaurant. Not at all surprised it was another 10/10. Gary, I've started to take a proper look at some UK travel for later next year. I've actually got a bucket list of destinations to make plans for over the next five years, before I turn 50. An international trip each year. I'm planning on a three week holiday to the UK around September or October 2025. Two weeks in England & Scotland then a week or so in Ireland. If you & your son are likely to be around at that time of the year, it would be an absolute pleasure to meet up with you & a delight to shout you both to a lovely meal out... So not Wetherspoons or Taco Bell! Haha! I remember us talking about Cafe Paolo a little while back & that would be fantastic. Anyway, I'll be in touch with you via email next year once I start to make some bookings. It would be such a treat to meet you in person & it would be number one on my itinerary. Wonderful review as always Gary, I thoroughly enjoyed it. See you on the next one. 🌷💙

When I watched their pov livestream when they were serving these roasts, I nearly got dehydrated because of the amount of drooling as I saw these meals on the plates. Hopefully I get to bring my brother, whom I am carer for, to London from NZ one day to see big ben and to have one of these roasts at Fallow.

Funnily enough I have just eaten broccoli cheese this evening. Something tells me it wasn't as good as what you had there, it looked divine. The sourdough bread and Scottish salty butter, ohhhhh my 😋😋

Gary, you have ruined my food experiences! I discovered your channel a month ago and have binge-watched at every opportunity. However, the upshot is that with every meal now, even a humble bowl of cereal, I can hear your talk-track in my head critiquing the food lol Thank you for all that you do and a very happy Christmas!

As the saying goes - "you get what you pay for." Fallow certainly delivered in every regard for you there, Gary. I would have willingly paid an extra £30 for a bucket of that gravy, asked them for a ladle and drunk it contentedly out of a wine glass. Magnificent. If you're going to spend that kind of money on a Sunday Lunch, it has to be exceptional and it was. A richly deserved 10.

That has got to be the most mis-named restaurant ever. Fallow usually means something empty or barren. Far from it with that scrumptious looking grub. And that gravy looks so good. And what a nice touch to give you beautiful homemade bread to soak up the last of it. Brilliant. Thanks for sharing, Gary.

Fallow seems to be the most desirable place to eat at the moment and their menus and service leave everyone behind. Their own YT videos on how to cook some great meals are fab too. So, so intrigued at the ex-dairy beef. I have asked loads of butchers in York if they have it occasionally or can get it and drawn a blank so far and I have been to 4 of the top 6 butchers in the city so far. You can therefore imagine how drawn I was to your dinner and review. Everything so totally gorgeous - even the swede which I hate with a vengeance hahaha. I could watch you go to Fallow for every episode provided you had something different each time. All followed by Gravy Dips too. Wonderful wonderful wonderful. Everything was perfect. And whilst I could not afford the very reasonable bill or the rail fare to London at present, maybe my fortunes might change in 2025*, wherein I would go to Paulo's for breakfast and Fallow for evening meal and metaphorically raise a glass to you on my last mouthful of incredible grub. Thank you for allowing many of us to live vicariously through your experiences with wonderful food in beautiful restaurants and cafes and long may you and those experiences continue. * A Lottery win? I have to remind myself that I have to buy a ticket first !

Hi Gary, A great meal, beautifully cooked and presented. £32 is high end but you are getting your money's worth in my opinion. Quite unusual to see them selling dairy beef. Its normally unwanted and goes to be put into processed meals etc, good to see it getting a well deserved outing, it looked a fantastic colour! Great honest review as always!👍👏👏♥️🏴

Ok Gary, sitting here in China I can only dream about getting to Fallow one of these days however…following your last visit one of our Chinese friends who lives in Singapore asked for a recommendation when they were taking their daughter back to school in London. I said they had to give Fallow a try. They did and were totally blown away by every aspect of the food, the service and the atmosphere. Now these are serious international business high-flyers, used to only the very best of the best. When they report back that Fallow is up there with the cream of the restaurant world then you can be certain it truly is….Now I am just looking forward to getting my Yorkies to rise a little more and dreaming of that Sunday Lunch….
