Another decent and honest review. You picked all the food that would appeal to me and all of it seemed perfectly cooked and presented, my favourite was the prawn dish. It's very good to see support for these family-owned businesses that have existed for many years possibly not noticed as much as they could have been. I wonder how many businesses you have boosted in trade terms since you started the channel, quite a lot I would wager? and for those that have not been up to scratch then maybe they could learn a few lessons and also profit. I make that a solid 9 in marking terms.

Its huffed on the plate with no elegance, but it looks SO tasty!!! Those fries! Great portion! The steak looks closer to blue than rare, but that wouldn’t bother me. I like making beef tartare anyways haha

You pay for quality. If it's the best fish and chips in the world, and in that venue too, you gotta pay extra.

Gary El Rincon Restaurant. I've mentioned more than once on the channel how fussy I can be 😂 However.... Every dish looked amazing! I don't think I've ever had Spanish tapas, although I've visited Spain on 3 occasions.. I definitely would have had the Sangria if available 👍 The score you gave was spot on, & yes you're right to save the 10s for when everything is exceptional. You're absolutely right to ignore the bill when it comes to eating somewhere like this. It's about everything BUT the bill sometimes! But it has to be said... for a meal of that quality, in that setting, with that level of service, £50 per head is a bargain.

Those croquetas are definately home made. You can tell by each one is sightly unequal in shape / size. The way the breadcrumbs and flour have browned while frying means no industrial additives. The all i oli looks like proper all i oli, meaning just made with eggs, garlic, oil and salt instead of garlic mayonnaise. Churros for desert is a bit strange, it is a breakfast food / hangover cure jajaja. Restaurant looks lovely, I wish them the best success.

The locals go to the fish and chip shop around the corner in the town (if you can call it a town) plus Stein's restaurant closes at 7.30pm.

I think the price you paid Gary was good , we eat in many restaurants last Saturday I paid £14.00 in Liverpool for a main which was a tiny piece of lamb on a single slice of soda bread and was gone in 50 seconds , and sides were 7 pounds each to boot , have you ever tried Marco Pierre white Gary ? ....very nice ....very pricey .

Had the pleasure of the Mariners a couple of years back during an ‘Eating Padstow’ week. Absolutely awesome. Top quality food, blinding service, worth every penny. 10/10 from me.

Hi Gary. I’m just back from a 3 month tour of India. After having visited places the length and breadth of this amazing sub-continent I can report that the food isn’t remotely like that served in “Indian” restaurants in the UK (99% of which are Bangladeshi anyway!)
