I'm back with another video on the channel and this time, I visited Hattusa in Sevenoaks which has another four branches across Kent. I've been excited about visiting Hattusa for a while as I've heard it has excellent food, so lets give it a go!

Some people think Turkish food is only bread under meat, bread wrapped around meat or bread on top of meat, it’s not, they also have bread next to meat !

Spent a lot of time in Turkey, specifically exploring Turkish cuisine and I can confirm Turkey has at least 132 variations of 'bread and meat', not to mention another 5 or 6, involving bread and vegetable. All of which can be improved dramatically, by adding butter,,,,, but don't tell them that.😂

Love olives, especially with pimentos inserted! Those King prawns looked very fine indeed! The way the main dish was presented looked to good to eat! What a picture of care and attention in every detail, not just thrown on a plate, looked delicious, sounded delicious with your usual succinct review! Another fine video, keep 'em coming Gary!

Our favourite Turkish place in London went out of business a couple of years ago. We've had a hard time finding comparable, but we keep "giving it a go".

That was an excellent review Gary. Your Tiger Prawn starter was outstanding. The main course-- the 2 lamb and chicken meats looked so tender and the juice coming out, lovely. Bulgar is fabulous. The decor is lovely. It looked like cuneiform writing on the walls, very clever idea. The shrimp dish reminded me of a Spanish shrimp and garlic meal we enjoy. It all looked so delightful! Enjoyed watching you wreck that meal😋.

Sorry, Gary, not in the best of shape today. But from what I saw, except from the fact that I can't eat the prawns, I would give it a 10 out of 10 as well. The kebab looked fabulous and the restaurant looked amazing. Hopefully I will recover soon, so I can go and have a try and as well we can meet up for our pending meal. Love a bit of Sevenoaks !! Lots of restaurant choices. What a superb interior. Really like places like that. You can see the kitchen and nice comfy seats. Good call having the prawns !!! No surprise Gary had the mixed meats for main. Olives are not my favourite 😕 Those prawns looked delicious and so did the Turkish bread. Plenty of prawns and sauce. Not stingy .Amazing starter for £8 ! That kebab looked absolutely perfect. Lots of meat. Cooked perfectly. The adana is EXACTLY how I want it but rarely get it. I love bulgar wheat. Salad looked nice and fresh. This is a 10 out of 10 place if ever I saw one ! Another superb location and an excellent review.

Hi Gary, good to see you again ! Even in Sydney, the Turks are the unsung food heroes. Bread, meat, seafood, salad, dessert, what amazing value for money, and what quality. One can make the argument that there's no need to eat anywhere else but at a Turkish restaurant ! My brother lives in England, not far from Cambridge, and there's a large Turkish restaurant in his neighbourhood, and he and his partner love eating there. Auburn is the place to go in Sydney, but it's almost impossible to find parking. I guess, that's the tale of every city these days. Those 5 prawns with bread for 7.95 is a meal in itself. Love Hattusa. The other branch you mention in Sevenoaks is their takeaway, where the food is the basically the same albeit cheaper. I love the mixed grill. There's a version which includes lamb chops which are tender and delicious. The Cacik is also highly recommended.

Oh my, prawns look amazing. I was with you all the steps of the way.....picking up prawns with fingers tick, wanting a spoon for the sauce tick. The only thing I would have done differently is open up the bread and soak up the sauce with the inner side of the bread. Mixed grill looks amazing too, I think Turkish meat is basted with lamb fat, hence the amazing flavour. Btw, Hattusa is an amazing archeological UNESCO site in Turkey. Thank you Gary, so glad you gave this restaurant a go. 😊

Thank you Gary, the food looked absolutely delicious but not surprised as Turkish food is my all time favourite. Love kebabs and the Adana looked superb. They just have a unique way of presenting food that makes you want to eat ! Rick Steins Venice to Istanbul series is excellent for showing how they make these dishes. If I was there I’d have to try the Lamacun as they are really delicious for a starter 👍

Hiya,well you done it again a fantastic find and seems to be worth the bus fair. Lovely interior. Somewhat stark,almost minimalist,but bright, crisp straight lines, filmed brilliantly by CTP. The food left me drooling 🤤 Prawns & broth(more than just a sauce) like you, could have just had them with the bread😊😊 the prawns looked lush&juicy. The meaty mains( with added salad) all items were cooked to perfection and treated with respect by the chef😊 The prices in this day&age were ridiculous 😮 a total bargain. It was a good evaluation. Thank you. I would like to tell you for those who are wondering. Turkish cuisine is very different from the food in restaurants.Yes, the dishes in Turkish restaurants also belong to Turkish cuisine. But the real dishes that make up Turkish cuisine are the dishes made at home. I'm talking about juicy dishes cooked in cauldrons and pots. They are completely different dishes from kebabs and have incredibly different flavors. There is no sauce in Turkish food culture. Because home-made casserole dishes already have their own sauce. I hope you can try these dishes at a home-cooked restaurant. Or when you visit our country, someone will definitely host you at their home. Love to all of you from Turkiye.
