Because of you, Tyler DeWitt, I am getting an A (and the highest grade in the class) in Chemistry. Plus, it is an accelerated class during the summer. You make everything understandable and explain WHY. I cannot just memorize things, I need to know why. You are the reason I will be going to nursing school. I hope you know how much your videos are helping people today, even the one's made 5 years ago! THANK YOU.

Oh my god I relate so much to this. I just can't stand teachers who don't bother to tell you WHY things happen, and just go "oh it just is, u don't need to know anything else just memorize it"... Honestly I think they say that cause half the time they don't know either, which is laughable at best and frustrating at worst. But Tyler here really gets it

you came here to find an answer 'by yourself', while you were 'sent' to school by your parents. people misconceive this for the youtube teacher being better (not that he isn't, just for the different reasons).

Woah you clarify my error on this , my teacher doesn't explain individually which Is the only way I really learn. You should move to seaside, California our school is dieing to find teachers like you! Seaside high, we were about to close down due to bad test scores but we are improving alot! You would be a huge asset to our school!

It is much easier to divide 225 by 101.3, that gives you 2.22, this is the number you multiply 101.3 by to get to the 225 kPa. Once you know that you know that 2.22 x 1 atm = 2.22 atm and 2.22 x 760 = 1688 mmHG.

Just a summary: ATPS is ambient pressure (640 mmHg), ambient temperature (25C) volume measurement saturated with water vapor @ 25C. BTPS is ambient pressure (640 mmHg), body temperature (37C) volume measurement saturated with water vapor @35C. STPD (my favorite) is standard pressure (760 mmHg), 0C, dry volume measurement. The conversion is based on the formula => PV/T = PV/T equated by the number of molecules.

The volume measurements I'm talking about are spirometer volume measurements

@cherisetekurio82918 жыл бұрын
why wouldnt it be 1.69 * 10^3?
@MClark-ii2di8 жыл бұрын
It would depend on whether or not your instructor wants it in scientific notation. If they don't specifically say put it in scientific notation you should be safe to leave the answer as 1690
@Annabelladoe8 жыл бұрын
wouldn't it be 1688.05528 mm hg and then turned into 1.7x10^3 mm Hg
@kvothe21448 жыл бұрын
+annabelladoe I know right?? would u put it in scientific form and if it has 3 significant figures it would therefore be 1.69 X 10^3 mm Hg
