Why I like a steel coiled spring rather than a gas piston.

The worst scope eater out has got to be the Hatsan 125 TH. I put a Hammer scope on it and it got hammered. UTG is still going strong. In my opinion One eyed Joe ( Cyclops Videos Joe W Rhea) is the top dog on scopes. He don't like UTG but He agreed with me that they don't come any tougher . He likes Bushell AR models. I have read that Bushnell scopes will stand up to air rifles. As a final note, you folks looking to buy an air rifle for the kids, Hatsan Alpha. I have gave away 5 and have 1 myself.

I have shot enough to notice the difference to when it comes to cocking, Back in the day they bragged that you could leave a gas piston cocked and they wont wear out like a springer I say marking fluff , I hope you have a good day Chuck. Thanks for the upload

you actually can leave a gas ram compressed for a very very long time,they are designed to be that way..like the hatchback of your car usually stays shut and hoods on woodworking machinery are left shut sometimes for weeks where i work.

Wow, thanks for that vid! I asked you that question yesterday, and you answered me. And now a new vid! How cool! The industry seems to want to push us into the gas ram i think. Maybe they think the technology is what we want. Kinda like the car industry. When I'd be happy with basic 1960's. I favor the spring, I was thinking maybe I am a little weird and anti tech. It's nice to know I'm not alone in this topic. Thanks again!

I have a tuned HW 90 with a 12", .20 barrel. I love it. It is tuned to 20fpe. I also own a number of spring guns, all are fantastic, especially after tuning. As for triggers, the TO6 is right behind the Rekord, if tuned properly. Two of the best triggers out there. I use PTFE for my piston sleeves. Anyhow, good video.

This is an hard one for me ! I think id give the gas ram a slight advantage for the no twang feature BUT the parts are twice if not triple the price and reliability is not the same as a cheap coil spring. I am not sure to believe any of the claims that they make on the gas pistons but they usually allow for a different/ firmer hold which is easier to master for someone coming from firearms
@springpistonriflefeverlone9611
@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 Жыл бұрын
Actually, I have been doing better lately with a firmer hold and very light trigger pull with my springers lately.

@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 *Consistency is the key!* _If you shoot badly but always do the same bad move/ jerk it the same way the pellets should land together anyways Haha_ There is no real magic hold you only got to find what is the most comfortable and repeable position for you with a specific rifle

Great video, two gorgeous rifles! I have also found the T06 trigger on my 48 rather soft and not as crisp as the rekord... Been playing around with it a bit and it's definitely better, lighter pull weight than the rekord but not as predictable... Probably need to shoot more and get used to it.

Hey Chuck, Great seeing you again. Hope you do a before and after conversion penetration and accuracy video. I learned a lot from some of your "how to" spring sleeve installation video. I think that the holding technique and the skill of the shooter are not the only factors that really matters, but the weight of the steel coil spring and violence of the double recoil would make a big difference. If you hold using a vice like strong tight grip, versus the artillery hold/slightly held/guided recoil hold. Maybe if you do slow motion profile shots of the gun being fired from padded table vice versus a gun stand/sled and pull the trigger using a string, you could show the difference in the recoil of the steel coil versus the gas ram recoil, and it would be more obvious to the viewer. Stay Safe. Be Well. GOD BLESS.

Thank you for the suggestion Ken.🙂👍 I don't think that a camera will capture the effects of what the recoil has on a scope or the shooter. I don't have a shooting sled either. I see no need for a shooting sled, especially since it will not help a person in the field.
