My heart just broke at the realization that it has been happening for years - I didn't know what to call it or if I was just imagining it was him, convinced into thinking it was me possibly... so much time spent in a fog. Maybe not curled up into a ball on the couch yet but realizing i'm really not that far off. I'm a very strong woman, always have been, and believe me, I stand up to him... but it's been so crazy making. I'm so tired. I'm exhausted. I've been fighting against something I didn't recognize. They really do convince you it's all your fault - it's you who's causing their temper tantrums, their stonewalling, etc. I need to get some help - not sure what to do now. Can't stop crying. Gutteral crying spells consuming my day now. I don't even know who I am anymore. I need to figure this out. Wow. thank you. Thank you. Thank You!

Yep - sexless marriage for 15 years, not so much as a kiss for 8 years in June - anytime I communicate my needs for touch, intimacy and sex in our marriage - I am being needy and accused of being a Cluster B personality disorder and a Narcissist. I am too needy and overwhelming. 8 years, and I am needy because I need touch in relationship. Pulls the DARVO and she just won't address her problem.

I’m trying to divorce my wife who is a gaslighter. She has isolated me from my closest friends and family members, manipulated me making me feel like it’s always my fault, having me apologize for her behavior and driving me insane. I’m completely exhausted, I’m trying to keep it together because she came here with a K-1 fiancé visa and I’m responsible for her until she’s on a plane back to Brazil.

@@allisonb.8492 I’m so sorry you’re going through this. My ex-wife and I just got married this past December 10, 2021. I never sent the papers to start her green card process, because I was swamped with work and didn’t have the money at the moment. On May 2nd, I had to file for divorce and I had to file a temporary restraining order against her because she already became physically violent with me twice here in the U.S. I haven’t been in my own apartment since April 29, because I’m afraid of what she might do to me. I started seeing her true colors by listening to a podcast called “Something Was Wrong” and they recommended a book called Gaslighting by Stephanie Moulton. Highly recommend those. Good luck and be careful getting out of these type of relationships, it can be dangerous.

I was gaslighted by my X when he was hiding his pornography addiction and he chronically lied to me. I was in F & F mode when I knew in my gut that I as going crazy as he said it’s in my head and I’m paranoid

Is it gaslighting if there is evidence of cheating but they swear that nothing more ever happened than what you saw?

Wow you explained what my wife is going through she also suffers through mental health. I never mean to gaslight at all. We are in a marriage so we are a partnership so when my wife tells me how she feels I feel worthless and not good and put down. Instead of finding solutions together I feel I am getting blamed for everything while my wife says I am gaslighting and invalidating. I am trying to figure out how I need help.

I don't know if it's me or my husband who is the gaslighter. I feel so drained. Everytime I try to have any kind of conversation he does the same thing. Say we are taking a trip and I want to talk about the cost. Just because I also continue financially and want to know what will be spent. Repeatedly will say I'm just asking. My husband will immediately start with"oh I guess we won't go" "I guess we don't need a rental" and I will say I didn't that I'm just asking you, I'm literally just asking and he will continue until I lose my temper and we are screaming. I just want this to stop. I hate absolutely hate the way he will change his tone and expression as though I can't see our hear. It makes me feel insane. It makes me hate him. Is it me? If it's me I'm the person who is willing to get therapy. Please tell me what I should do. I'm so tired.
