Hi, I’m getting gastric bypass in December. I’m so excited and terrified at the same time my friend has tried to talk me out of it and told me all theses horror stories that she has heard about. I’m glad I found your page ..

My daughter is 28. She had gastric sleeve in April. She’s down over 75lbs now I believe. If you need someone to talk with about the experience etc she’d be happy to. Pls stay hydrated! It’s so important to keep everything moving thru your bowels. You look like you’re doing great!! Look forward to seeing your transformation and hearing about your journey. Good luck and God bless!

Congratulations on your choice! I am 3 months post op from gastric sleeve and 43kgs down (almost 90 pounds) it’s the best thing I ever did. And my capacity to drink normally returned at about 2 months post op which has been brilliant. Finally have control of my eating and portions. It’s brilliant. All the best

@@Heyyy-Della properly that person was very big to begin with. The bigger u are the more weight u will lose. My first month post op I've lost 28.6lb and I started at 95kg. This is just a tool and it's not easy u still have to diet and exercise.

I didn't do surgery for personal (and financial, I'm in the US) reasons but I have lost 166 lbs. so far, I started at 462 lbs. BIG hugs, I'm so happy for you, my entire life has changed and it's a joy I want for everyone. I will say please please please look at the reasons why you ate, I hope they are giving you therapy, because the mental game has been about 80% of it for me. I've been following you for ages and you were a person I looked to for fashion when I was at my biggest and I still love you because you help me find all the cute things. SQUEE! @GlasUndMetall

@@NajiLovelyketo for a year then switched to CICO which I still do. I eat 500 cal below my TDEE. I went slow, cut out something, went a couple of weeks, cut out the next thing, rinse/repeat. I'm 5 years in and have kept it off and slowly kept losing. Skin isn't too bad, I wear compression gear and got into weight lifting and cycling. I'm 63 now and currently in a rented RV with my husband, our dachshund, and our cycles driving from the south to NY State. Worth every single second of this lifestyle change. Every time I fit into this tiny RV bathroom I could kiss my younger self, lol. However you choose to do it, do it. Never give up, never surrender!

Congratulations. I’m so glad you didn’t get sick. The two surgeries (lower back) I got sick after I came out of anesthesia and it’s kind of scary because being sick is quite a strain and I was afraid I’d undo what the surgeon just fixed. Had mine back in 1992 by the surgeon that perfected it, Dr. Harvey S. Sugerman. Back then, it was a huge incision from the sternum to the belly button; and it really, really was painful. I can tell you that the first few weeks and months it is extremely important to follow the post surgery diet exactly. Loosing weight at first will be really easy; but you really need to study food, the nutritional values, and learn it because after a few years, is when the struggle really begins because it is easy to forget what not to eat; and that you can 'bypass' the bypass by eating small meals. Best of wishes to you in your journey, it's exciting because it's like a 'new you' and you can start fresh; but never let your guard down when it comes to nutrition. Start a food diary, it helps a lot!! ALSO, make sure you get your labs done every year; because your vitamins/mineral levels are incredibly important, especially Vitamin B12! And while you can't 'gulp' water, water is very important. So sipping is great. And when you've 'over done it', a glass of water can be one of your best friends to 'bring it up' faster instead of being in misery for hours before it comes up. :p

Trina I had RNY in 2012. At last weight I was 190 from 400 LBs I have not had any skin removal. You have got this lady! At your age you have a wonderful life waiting for you. There are so many groups you can join to ask questions however, ask your doctors and team first. Please drink your water it is easy to dehydrate. You are at the point of step one, sip sip sip your water. Next is get your protein in. If not, you could lose your hair, your skin could not have the elasticity you need for some snap-back. You are beautiful inside to out. You Got This!!

You looked so much better after your surgery than I did after my hysterectomy. To he fair, I was very anaemic going into it. So I didn't look well before. I almost needed a blood tranfusion, and I did require an iron infusion after surgery. My surgery was not done laparoscopically, I actually had to have a vertical incision and staples. I have had laparoscopic surgery, and the recovery is easier, but still takes time. And it's easier to overdo it and regret it.

While in the hospital, after I had my second baby, I had that same gas problem in my shoulders. I had a doctor friend visiting me at the time and I mentioned how bad I felt and he said it was gas that if I flip over on all fours (on bent elbows and knees) the gas would begin to escape out my bottom because the gas goes to the highest point (now my bottom up in the air🤪) to escape! Worked like a charm❤️ Love your videos, wish you the best in your recovery and look forward to more great videos ❤️ From Los Angeles, CA

I'm now picturing that lol. Luckily I didn't have that problem after either my c section or hysterectomy, because getting up on all fours wouldn't have been doable. Also not dignified, but I didn't care about that for a few days after giving birth...it's not a dignified process lol.

Hi Trina, good luck with loosing weight. Is this an NHS funded surgery or have you gone private? If so how did you research and find your surgeon? What factors made you choose a bypass instead of other methods of surgery? Thanks

Did you get this done on the NHS? If you did how long was the waiting time. Is it something they do relatively quickly or do you have to wait a year or so? Glad your surgery went well! You are going to have so many clothes that won't fit soon lol

Hey. I’ve had the gastric sleeve in October 2023 unfortunately I haven’t be able to eat anything since. I spend all day being sick , fainting and the acid reflux/stomach acid is horrendous as anyone else experienced this? No one knows what to suggest I’ve been through tests still no answers 🤦‍♀️ this is the biggest regret to date but hopefully if someone else has experienced the same or similar to give some hope it gets better x
