The point about tackling panic is very valid. It happened to me in my interview in BARC. I was so panic stricken while facing the 6 scientists in front of me that I fumbled even in simple, fundamental questions. Apart from the preparation, one's attitude is important. Attitude that one has nothing to lose and only experience to gain.

Nothing is compulsory except two things- Which all India exam you qualified because they need to take care of fundings and all. How you approach them during interview and before interview after you get shortlisted for interview
