Thank you for this review. I completely missed the news on these new switches so I'm definitely going to order a batch of these.

I bought a single Gateron Melodic switch along with a mix of other switches to test, and this stood out as being the best. After hearng a the full set in your video I'm definitely going to order a full set for myself. The sound of these is perfection, a better lower pitched sound compared to my kailh box whites (which are also good).

I love click bar clicky such as Arctic fox and Box White. The sounds and tactile feel are simpler than click jacket type. Anyway, the long-awaited evolution for clicky enthusiasts is surely welcome news!

I’m also a clicky lover and am pretty excited to try these as well. I’m just concerned that they are advertised as a low volume clicky switch as the loudness factor of clickies is really appealing to me as well. Hopefully they are louder than advertised!
@KeebTaro8 ай бұрын
@@furnitureandbedding776 I mentioned it in the video as well 3:41, but it's not very loud. If that's what you're looking for, I recommend the Arctic Fox. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3uwc4Z5e6aqpdU

This is the best review! And what an incredible switch, with a relatively subtle clicky sound. I'm especially happy that the clicking part (which gives the switch both tactility and sound) can be easily taken out to convert the switch into a linear one-it can be very useful for modifier keys.

Received it. Well, it's nice. Compared to hand-lubricated Boba U4T 65 gr these are also very smooth but a bit harder to actuate (tried to squish them together to see who will trigger first-U4T is lighter!). The tactility is super sharp...like falling from a cliff! (U4T has round tactility in comparison, some may prefer it, I'm not sure which one I prefer yet) I wish the click was a bit quieter and lower frequency (closer to a mouse click). The biggest issue with Gateron Melodic is that the actuation point is just a bit below the click area-so when pressing the key slowly sometimes I hear the click but the key press is not registered (but due to hearing and feeling the click I back off, which is the point of a having a clicky switch)...it's not a problem for the alpha keys as during typing I always press relatively hard (almost always bottoming out) but when I simply browsing or working I use a lot PgUp/PgDn and arrows while pressing them sometimes very slowly and sometimes several times in a row the same key. I wish the actuation point was just a bit earlier-right in the moment of "falling from the cliff". Well, I think that with some experience I can get used to this quirk but hopefully we will see some improvements in the future iterations of this design.

Great vid for clicky lovers and I’m one of them 😂 I was wondering if this feels and sounds similar to clicky Alps because this switch’s click mechanism seems to resemble Alps. Not exactly same but more or less.. Thanks for the clean, neat review 😊

Very excited we have another click leaf switch. How tactile is it? Is it lighter or heavier, and how round is the tactility compared to click bars?
@GaryMansfield-f6z8 ай бұрын
Hi. It's quite tactile, about the same as a Kailh box white if you've used those. I can't speak for the weight as I'm not an expert 😜

Does the typing feel and sound like a box clicky structure or a traditional structure?
@KeebTaro8 ай бұрын
Sound is click jacket (traditional), feel is click bar (box).

How does its tactility compare to the box jades or to a normal click jacket switch

Confirm the bottom out spec is 48? Also can anyone compare this to the Kailh box pinks? They seem similar.
@KeebTaro20 күн бұрын
Gateron doesn’t specify the bottom-out force, but according to ThereminGoat's force curve, it seems to be around 50gf. www.theremingoat.com/blog/gateron-melodic-switch-review

Thanks for the advice. I'm always struggling with volume adjustments, so don't hesitate to let me know if it's too loud again!
