Thank you for being so honest. When your dad got hurt you could have done the cringe clickbait and made a stupid face with your dad holding his shoulder with a dumb title like Dad got hurt! But you didn't. I don't think most even knew he had gotten hurt till after his surgery. You got so many subs without clickbait. Without overdone thumbnails. Without an intro/outro. Thank you so much!
@BlazeDuskdreamer3 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I think this is one reason I treasure this sub. I've tried some of the more clickbaitery farm vlogs and just groaned and said nope. I don't want overdone, over-blown exaggeration. I'm enjoying seeing just good, honest hard work here.

Eric, congrats on the FRONT PAGE of the Lancaster Farming newspaper. I grew up on my neighbor's dairy farm ( smaller, old school 30 cows) and my wife grew up on a dairy farm. We both know about the hard work and the care needed for good milk production. Happy cows equal increased milk. Nice you are able to show the other folks what really happens on the farm. Jeff

Eric I totally respect you and your operation. Farmers/ranchers are one of the largest groups of unsung heroes of this world. But I still can’t wrap my head around removing new born calves from their mamas right after calving. I have since found other dairy operations that keep the calves with the mothers for a bit and they report it’s benefits to both the mamas and their calves. I’m relieved that some do keep new pairs together for a bit.

Eric, using the breakers to turn off the fans in the long run is not a great idea. A set of contactors with either a simple switch or a timer switch or both is much safer. Bob J.
@KJ-kw7gh3 жыл бұрын
As long as the circuit breaker is marked for switch duty, (SWD) then it’s not going to be an issue.
@bobjarrard3 жыл бұрын
@@KJ-kw7gh Watch how Eric and all the rest of us "swipe" or broad hand smack the handles of the breakers. He has a big stack there, true up to some level of amp draw you can use SWD rated breakers for switch duty but even that is not intended for regular use. HD's have heavier contacts usually that is why we do not use them for switches. General rule for most of we licensed electricians is to use single breakers at times for switches for isolated loads but for similar loads that are banked off all at one time, use a contactor and Eric could put in a timer switch and have the fans come back on in say 15/20 minutes. Also, a contactor can be tied to a high voltage thermostat and the fans can come on according to "Barn Temps". Another benefit is that the contactor(s) can be in a more convenient place, include a duty light, can be WiFi controlled, and none of this was a flame on Eric, we all think the world of the channel. Interfacing by comments on technical matters is one way of affirming our care for each other. Eric and his dad have brought in an electrician for the new big fan, they are cautions about those things. They crawl into a silo without any of the Cal OSHA safety equipment and protocol in place but then they are 10th Generation Dairymen and I am a 1st Generation General Contractor/Electrician. Good thought on SWD breakers, maybe Eric can pull the cover and check each of the breakers for that rating. Not sure how often he adds bedding in this area but likely more than once a week!! See ya in DairyLand. Bob in Nevada

We will drive by next year! I should edit this and say, we are not crazy people, we don’t stop or try to talk, we are just fans lol, not creepers.
