GoH is everyone's wet dream now! I didn't expected to be that good (that or maybe i'm still hyped about it)... Although it's on Beta and has a lot more to do, it's clear that GoH has everything we love from MOWAS 2, including stuff from Robz as well (like rifle grenades, tripod HMG, vehicle's engine system, better voicelines, etc). Nice to see how the developers literally made a worthy successor, which I would put in hundreds of hours of playtime (putting that way my social life at risk).

A well designed mission. I love how around the 26:00 minute mark that soviet tank is effectively shooting from cover and holding back your forces. I hope all missions will be as or even more challenging.

Been playing these games since I was a preteen and started with Soldiers: Heroes of WWII. The excitement I feel for this game is overwhelming, finally some good MoW content, there hasn't been good commercial releases since Assault Squad 2 Origins and that was just rehashing old stuff

The MP41 is actually a cheaper variant of the MP40, which was mostly used by rearguard and police units. But you're right, there was an PPSH variant used by German forces that was converted to 9mmx19 and you could fit actuall MP40 mags in it. But I don't think this conversion had an own designation besides MP 717 (r), whichs was also the German designation for not converted PPSHs

Stop ruining my trousers! Considering GoH is a mod of CTA, how likely is it that its files can be examined to help port a heavily modded AS2 into CTA? I have been trying to port mine for ages, and despite being an experienced modder and basic coder, the subtle differences in file content make it too unstable. I have tried reverse-engineering the Terminator mod to create a successful port, but have not yet managed. I'm OCD enough to want everything to run in the same engine. I have ported and blended Condemned Heroes, Red tide, FoW and MoW all into the same beautiful AS2 package with 4 separately selectable effects mods, First Person mod, modified Robz package, etc, so everything is fused and works together as one, but GoH is ramping up my OCD and I can't increase my medication any further (I'm already low on trousers). Do you think we'll see some AS2 porting from the modding community?

GoH isn't exactly a mod of CTA. DMS got involved only late in development as BarbedWireStudio was having publishing and money issues. It has some same features due to sharing mostly the same engine, but as it was separately developed for so long, I don't see an easy compatibility between CTA and GoH

I see that you are a game programmer, could you tell me if it is very difficult to put a total war saga style campaign map in this game, for example with exagons and thus be able to have battles in real time and dynamic maps, thank you.

@@joakkinlplopezbanos7784 I haven't seen the game yet, so am not certain how it's put together. It sounds as though it's a separate modified CTA install, rather than a mod of CTA (from SerCaleb's comment above). It's going to be moddable, though, so it's certainly possible to add new assets and campaigns, but they would have to adhere to the game's architecture. I'm encouraged that it may be possible to port a personalized AS2 package to GoH if it's a modified CTA install, as many of the assets might already mirror Robz (note the ammunition tank fire animation), which might make it easier.

This game looks so much fun. Realy is amazingly good. How you can controll everything,loot dead enemies. Take enemy vehichales and towed weapons. Is something special.. You picked up an looted some realy good weapons. AAA guns awsome.

These games live aand die with how active the AI is. Like the officer ducks away from the SMG burst... just to pop up again facing the wrong direction with his binos in hand. Or the rifleman in the barn already aimingg at the door but just going "Oh my, a german" when you rush in instead of blasting you. Then again that T-40 made a nice push through the gap in your lines. Once the T-28 had sown some chaos so eh... Hard to judge

I am new at this and just play the 1 mission the Beta open offer. How do you get that 1st person view from soldiers and from the tank visor? All I manage to do in the tutorial is a direct view like from behind of the tank or soldier. Thanks!

I'm not sure if the helmets help all that much, but I think it would've been a good idea to have your men put their helmets on, such as that scout with the sniper. He had one but wasn't wearing it.

I would suggest to take the rear MG on the sdkfz 251 and put it on one of your inf, MGs are very powerful in this game and lets be honest, that rear MG is not gonna do too much ;)

spread out your squads, use them as fireteams or separate the MG into a pair with an assistant gunner carrying ammo. your infantry gets annihilated due to their positions being so close

He's using the infantry like tanks, while keeping the tanks as reserve/back up. In a good set up tanks lead the charge with infantry following them closely. Also you would use halftracks and mech infantry in conjunction with the armor so the infantry has protection and mobility. Perhaps towing a PAK or inf-gun for fire support.
