With regards to talent acquisition, Jacob La France is the current GM in name but doesn't do all the GM role as laid out. I read LaFrance would continue to lead talent acquisition with a new GM handling the financial matters.

AGREED but I won’t hold my breath. Our offense is still very suspect and if we didn’t have DJ we’d all be clambering for an OC. An offense without 4/5 wr sets in modern day football is mind blowing. I wish Billy would just be the HC and run the ship. Hire some coordinators and let them do their job. Don’t micromanage everything.

I’m pretty I heard that napier hasn’t calling the plays for a while now and it’s been Russ Calloway. Even the bowl game I heard his name. The plays looked different from the moment of our bye week. Not the usual same clumps of plays. I could be wrong but It’s definitely different what napier would call
@Daren-fh5nmКүн бұрын
@@weaponx2980 Well if it’s true, Napier is still micromanaging him cause it’s not to much different. That’s what got Muschamp fired he micromanaged every offensive coordinator he had. He had about three OCs and all of them called the same gameplan. Muschamp wanted a elite defense and a running game and that’s what it was before he got fired
@weaponx2980Күн бұрын
@ I agree with the muschamp assessment, he did everything else right but when it came to the offense he wouldn’t let the reigns go. Napier wants to run an offense like the 49ers run. I don’t care for it because of what college game has evolved into but if he’s micromanaging that wont work. He need to let OC do what he does. He needs to realize he hasn’t made it with the offense he runs. Him being semi successful at a lower conference doesn’t mean it will translate in a better conference against better opponents. He friend this same crap at Clemson and it didn’t work and he had a great QB in Taj Boyd. It was predictable and dry and they wrote a whole article about his play calling abilities. He needs to give up that dream and focus on being the head coach. You won Napier many don’t get that chance without being successful at being an OC especially at power 5 school. And if he can’t then that will be his downfall and eventually get him fired. Seem like he’s stubborn as hell when it comes to that

I’m tired of hearing we need an OC, let’s change the offense again (for what?) for a 19 year old to learn an entire new offense in year two…. (I say NO) How about we play complimentary football like we did the last four weeks of the year and just stop with the unrealistic expectation of “the old days”. The only thing that matters is the W!
@Daren-fh5nmКүн бұрын
@@xMRR1GHTx And you going to keep hearing it! We getting big name offensive talent cause of Lagway and we are not going to keep that talent happy without a OC! @@xMRR1GHTx Either Napier just doesn’t get it or he’s very threatened by a OC! A nice OC could take Napier’s job since the only thing Napier can do right is recruit! @xMRR1GHTxКүн бұрын
@@Daren-fh5nm and honestly this is problematic because this why most of these kids struggle at the next level because they are made to be plants in these OCs offense and struggle with progression at the next level because nowadays we put kids in a dumb down SYSTEM versus teaching them the game of football. If we got talent allow it to be great at what they got evaluated for and build around said talent. If we have an offense that’s only good because of scheme it only takes a good DC the 2nd game to expose it (Did you watch the second OU vs Ducks game)
