Thanks! I've gotta get more videos edited to catch everyone up on my progress. I'm definitely happy with how it's turned out.

Hi, sorry I just saw your videos. My first job was working on boats (new and old) at Splawn Marine in North Little Rock. Many of the things you did in your videos I did on the boats. I don't know if anyone answered your question about the motor mounting on the back of the boat. Just in case they didn't answer, here is the reason the motor was mounted like you saw it. The important part of mounting a motor either Mercury or OMC is the placement of the cavitation plate in relation to the bottom of the boat. There is a slight difference between Mercury and OMC, Mecury is a little higher. To mount the motor one must first center the motor by looking from the motor the front of the boat using the bottom as a guide. Next comes the height of the motor. We used wooden shims to help in the placement of the Mercury motors. With OMC motors there was a metal template with holes for the motor bolts. Hope that helps with your question. Back when I worked on the boats the only thing that came installed in the new boats were the steering wheels.

The tape and scribing for the holes of the gauges was a great idea! I’ll have to use that if I go back to just the bare hull on mine instead of the wood dash overlay. I did the same thing with ABS plastic for my 6 gang switch panel on my bow rider, I used it to fill a hole I got a little too big with and it turned out great! Glad to see the amazing progress on this boat, it gives me hope for my dad’s.

Looking Great Josh! I am really amazed at how well the old girl is coming out and can't wait to see the first splash video! Are you planning to put a back pad in the front area? I have a 185 Sea Ray and there is a nice panel that wraps the bow and provides some back cushioning and I just didn't know if Glastron had that same feature.

Thanks! I'll be honest I have kicked the back pad idea around, but I haven't done anything yet. It may be a future add on.

jmink I am sure those riding in the bow would appreciate it and it is probably the best seat on our boat!

When my dad installed new gauges on our 72 Starcraft he had a piece of black plexiglass made and put that over the console to use as a bezel. It looks really good. Is 2019 going to be the year this thing sees water again?

New subscriber here in Nashville and loving your videos. Ive been slowly restoring a 17 ft 1994 Sunbird bowrider so your work is very inspiring. Speaking of, I'm looking to upgrade my boat by adding side glass to the cockpit area. Does anyone here know where i could find someone that custom cuts (tempered) boat glass?

Thanks for subscribing! Good luck with your boat. My wife and I love Nashville we hang out there every now and then.

jmink Nashville is great, we've been here 18 years. If you're ever in the area you need to visit historic downtown Franklin, a Nashville suburb. We live 2 minutes from downtown Franklin. Its also where many of the country music stars live. We see everyone from Brad Paisley to Keith Urban around Franklin.

I've stayed in Franklin before, but I didn't go downtown. I will have to add it to my list of things next time we are there. We also have stayed in Green Hills and Ashland City. Seems that we are always rotating to a new area when we visit.

Not with my boat. I am using removable tanks with my outboard motor.
