It's really something of a redemption arc for him, especially when we're shown so many small moments that hint to how cruel and arrogant he was prior to his imprisonment, no better (and possibly even worse) than Desire. FYI Gault’s original purpose as a nightmare was to shapeshift. She filled the role of making the dreamer uncomfortable at encountering someone familiar but acting like a different person. One might imagine to make people confront that others have sides we don’t see. It’s easy to guess she kept visiting Jed because none of the adults around him were acting as he expected they should, being parents and guardians. But Gault couldn’t take seeing Jed tortured and used her natural powers in the Dreaming to create a world that defied his expectations on the other direction. It feels as if her role as a dream would be to provide people with different but better ways to see others and themselves.

Without nightmares we wouldn’t learn how to face our fears. We wouldn’t learn how to be bold and brave. @raspyswirly Жыл бұрын
@@Damodred_Heiress I don't think they needed to show graphic violence either, just a stronger desperation for Jed to hope in his dreams than in real life. Yes, he's in a horrible state, but in the novels even his visual environment seems much more horrific, and both his "foster parents" are nasty creatures. Here he's even able to escape in the beginning, and he could still hope that his aunt do the right thing and free him. Even his uncle in the series could (almost!) be reasonable. I just feel that they needed to have his situation look more dire to have Gault's compassion and motherliness for Jed, as a nightmare who recognizes the truly scary situation he's in, be even more heartrending.

@@arthursouza9641 The show is not even faithful to the comics, and much less Gault as a major arcana from The Dreaming. Every dream of the comic has a symbolic background as embodiments of universal ideas that connects them with historical events, but Gault? it means absolutely nothing, the name looks taken from Wattpad, and the conception is an embarassment. A shapeshifter? Literally every nightmare or dream in The Dreaming can do that, what makes her so special? Fiddler Green is an abstract place embodying the ideal promise land in every myth that stole the thought of a body for himself, The Corinthian is the dark reflection of sentinent beings reflecking back what they are unwilling to accept about themselves and in comics he has a billion subjetive aspects depending of the context in which the notion of him manifest since he is not a real man, and even Brute and Glob were far more interesting as the ever present terrors behind the ideals of brute strenght and sly cunning which also could freely change forms due their extensive archetypal nature, but Gaul? what is she? what she embodies? She is a random afterthought in the form of a butterfly that casually changes her looks and is sad, and.....? Hell, even The Corinthian helped Jed more than she ever did, she complained about Dream and that she did not want to follow rules, and yet her best idea by breaking the rules was to bring Jed superhero dreams, while she could have stormed him in the place and freed her from his imprisoment, without even need to kill the foster parents unlike The Corinthian, since she was breaking the rules either way either If she wanted to maintainted herself exclusive as a dream or no. Even the idea of the side event of Gault contradicts the comic since despite that Morpheus was reluctant to abandon his old ways, it always maintained a solid position that both dreams, and specially nightmares, were vital and had a greater purpuse for helping conscious beings to understand each other better, even Gault would have been more acceptable iif she had embodied the dream/ nightmare of change or maybe hope either in a good way or in a despair way, that existed in the unconscious to make people to confront these ideas and to process their experiences, specially in the Jed situation, or maybe the concept from which the idea of shapeshifting was born within all the rest entities, but none of that was ever implied that way, she is just a random nightmare that looks odd and that wants to be a happy dream without realizing the importance of her function in where far more rigid Morpheus that the one of the comics complies for the sake of giggles of "hey, Morpheis is changing into a good fellow!", is literally a family friendly, overly queer sexualized, version of The Sandman.

I think the whole Arc and journey of Dream made him more compassionate and understanding of his servants and creations. Also, I would like to believe that going forward, he will speak/reason/explain the reason of a Nightmare and what they do will be seen by most sentient creatures as bad, but that doesnt mean that the Nightmare themselves are bad. They fulfill a purpose, they make others face their fears, they instill somekind of caution but that doesnt make them all they are and can ask for change once they have made their purpose for a long time, just like Gault. Is almost like the Wreck It Ralph type, sure there are villains but they are more than that and they are ok with it.

A while ago i saw this clip pop up and i hadn't yet finished the series. When I read the title i read it as "Gault reincarnated as Dream". I got so pissed bc i thought I read a spoiler that somehow dream was replaced as a twist ending or something lmao. kicked myself when i did watch the end for not reading titles of videos properly

The deities purpose is to guide mortals and maintain harmony and order of the cosmos. Yet some abandoned it and forgotten their roles. The Endless is Overgods that is less than Gods but More than it aswell. They essential primordials and fundamentals to the very fabric of reality and every aspect of existence. They are abstract concepts that coalescence into being personified and driven by their nature by their namesake. In this Morpheus is very conservative and stayed focus on his very nature. But until when he did very exhausting action the mortals caught him due being vulnerable such time. Dreams banishment to the mortal realm. Serves him well allows him to learn the wisdom of her sister Death how to cope with mortals and learn to understand those around him that relys to him. He learn to take good counsel He gained insights of mortals and have a friend He try save others and being compassionate aswell He change being shaper of forms he should be All better understanding how to serve the universe rather than to be served didn't forget his virtue by its nature.

In this scene I thought Niel would incorporate a recent, new nightmare, based off recent nightmares like slanderman or siren-head. That would've been neat.
