On the prompt of a good friend, I am posting this poem.
She was right. Even though others have posted similar notes/ poems/stories, I should still share mine.

Gauze* or Gazan
A thin, loosely woven cloth
(silk, linen, cotton, film)
used for dressings and swabs,
(and even for grafted olive trees,
which have grown since the time
of Jesus [who was also Palestinian])
wrapped around the arm of a Gazan child,
who has barely reached adulthood,
but uses olive oil for the wounds on his skin,
and sucks on an olive pit in his mouth
in place of food, and holds an olive branch
in his heart for the future.
For even God compares His light
to the oil of an olive tree,
which glows without being touched
by fire.
*The word 'gauze' is derived from Gaza, the name of a town in Palestine.
