How to remove the driver seat in a 1998-2002 Camaro

4 bolts and 1 electrical plug and that's it ! My car is a '98 but this information should be similar for 98-02 Camaros and for that matter Pontiac Firebird / Trans Ams. I am working my way down a list of items to complete this off season. This is the first one I'm working on.

Thanks for the informative video. I appreciate detailed instructions. I'm in the process of taking out the whole interior on my 02 Trans Am to install a 6-point roll bar. I had a new engine built plus more driveline mods. Now it runs 11.80s and is scaring this 76 year old grandpa into a roll bar and harness!

I got a 98 can I re use the power control and put it in the Manual seat? My camaro 98 has powered seats and i found good seats in a junk yard but they are manual I would like to keep the power seat feature

So im 6'6 and I'm getting a 2000 camaro as a 3rd car. It's a tight squeeze, but nothing too crazy. Am I able to swap out and put the seat on universal brackets? I would like a lil more room for those longer trips. This video helped a lot

I am not familiar with alternative brackets. Best thing to do is an internet search or check out LS1tech(.com). That forum has a good amount of 4th Fbody information.

It's a typical plug. Press on one side to release the tab and pull.

Got a question, so the rear nuts on mine are in the middle for some reason. The seat can't move back and forth and it set to the furthest back setting and I cannot remove them. Any ideas?

Not off hand. Is it a power seat ? Someone may have 'fixed' a seat track issue in the past causing the current condition

@@GavDetails no, it is a manual. It's my girlfriends car so I haven't had a chance to look at it in depth but I think the teeth on one side may just be lodged in and I may have to reach in and pull it while she pulls the lever. But I'll look at it more tomorrow when I go over there
