My sister actually met rob 5 weeks ago and she was gutted. He was at a football match and she plucked up the courage to say hello and he was rather rude and blunt. She was disappointed but I said tbh he probably deals with that all the time and it must get irritating however I do think from what I heard he should of been kinder. She said how Bryn was her favourite character etc and he was like “oh, cool” and then spoke to the person next to her and blanked her bless her haha xx

@@annavictoriataylor8713 I'm not even going to try to defend Rob Brydon from that appalling behaviour that you say happened. I could talk about the massive amount of work he probably does for charity. I could talk about how amazing he may well be with former school friends, people in the community he grew up with, small animals and indeed his family. Truth be told I have absolutely no idea about any of that. The reason I have no idea about what he does in his private life is because of the word that comes before life. I am entirely selfish and blinkered in my appreciation of Rob Brydon. I really couldn't give a flying fig about how he interacts with the public when he's not on screen or stage. He makes me laugh and he makes me happy. His existence enhances my life. He distracts me from things that aren't great in my life, normally for a period of around 30-minutes, and he invariably leaves me chortling, giggling and occasionally laughing out loud. Why the hell would you ever want to criticise someone who does that? In my book if you can do that across society then you should have the freedom to spend time with your loved ones without anyone ever coming up and saying "Rob can I have a selfie". Equally I'm not criticizing anyone who would want to go up and ask for a photograph or to shake Rob's hand, as I would probably be one of those people. That having been said if I approached him and he turned around, looked me in the eye and told me to go f**k myself, I'd smile and say "yes, no bother, thank you for making my life a little bit better", secure in the knowledge I had a great story to tell in the pub (not on social media as a post may illicit this length of response and some sad loser trolls). At this point I feel I should also point out I think Rob Brydon, whilst a National Treasure, is possibly the 13th funniest person in the UK. I'm not a super fan, I'm just an ordinary guy who watched a video and made a genuine reaction comment to it. I was extremely surprised when someone liked my comment. I was completely unsurprised when someone started to troll my comment. Rob Brydon is an exceptional entertainer who makes hundreds of thousands of people's life better by his very existence. You can express any opinion you want after that statement, but be aware you are expressing an opinion I am stating a fact.

@@RobBrydon Rob has a gift for doing these chat shows via video link, he is natural, calm and importantly 'happy', which is so important for many families like myself, living alone, isolated, not allowed to be near my children because both work in the teaching profession, so are staying away from me to keep me safe. But, loneliness is also a major problem for people's mental health, and Rob is doing a brillant job in bringing light into otherwise 'dark' single, very lonely, household homes.

Thanks for another thoroughly enjoyable interview, Rob! I completely understand Joanna's excitement in having a real person to talk to; some days in quarantine, with my hubster working in one end of the house and me in the other, I didn't speak to a soul all day. And internet interviews somehow exacerbate the whole "being wired" state! Either way, the interview was great fun!
