Thank you for this idea. I'm going to start outsourcing my life decisions to app ghosts. Can't be any worse than making decisions myself.

Just wanted to comment to let you know how much you’ve inspired me to get back into reading. Lately I’ve been going for walks and listening to gothic classics (The Haunting of Hill House, Rebecca, and currently Dracula), and I’m loving it! Thank you for doing what you do!

I think if you like Dracula, I 100% recommend Carmilla. Another classic, but it is short and so lovely. Really atmospheric ❤😊

I just read Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House and really enjoyed it. It was super odd, and Elinor was so intriguing as a character we follow. I really enjoyed the ending too. Funky and one of those books were you sit and think for long moments afteerwards 😅. I also read We Have Always Lived in a Castle by Shirley Jackson, and I really really loved that one. Probably on of my favorites, and it was also mind-boggling. I'm excited to see what else you pick up (only 7:45 in 😮). Thanks for a delightful spooky video. Fits to my spooky vibes I'm feeling 😁

I just finished 'Haunting of Hill House' last week and gave it a 4 star too! Someone described it to me as a "quiet horror" and I thought that was the perfect way to describe it. The language was beautiful and the atmosphere was so perfectly unsettling.

The first time I read "Hill House" I didn't really get into it and didn't think much of it. The second time was much better, and I think it absolutely deserves its classic status. Jackson's character writing has a kind of ruthlessness to it - she doesn't try to make you like her characters, she just shows them to you without holding anything back, and it's fantastic. There was a very bad movie made of the book in 1999, and a very good one in 1963.
