Try Scuba diving off Lauderdale by the sea. I love diving there, I live near there too.

Oh wow....once a year we stay a night in Ft Lauderdale before leaving on the gay cruises.....but never take advantage of the gay stuff there. This is now giving me ideas for next time. Thanks for the fun video.

It looks like a cool city. But for a shorter weekend trip, would you say South Beach Miami is the better option. I get the sense that Fort Lauderdale is the better option for longer stays.

Both are great for a weekend! Plenty to keep you engaged just depends on if you want the glamour of south beach or relaxed Fort Lauderdale! You can’t go wrong. There are certainly many gay retirees in South Florida, but we do find a good mix of ages, races, etc. especially in high season given it’s an international destination. Very diverse.

Wilton Manors is a very popular retirement area for older gays, not unlike Palm Springs. And I'd say in general, the clothing-optional gay resorts attract a mature crowd, in large part because they're expensive.

Just to mention a few places you didn't mention - The Eagle, Ramrod, 321, Le Boy, Boardwalk, Clubhouse II, and many, many more. Ask your UBER driver as many are LGBTQ friendly. Very friendly.

@@jobete1964 Agreed. I had chatted with Jim a few years back about the future of the complex after he retired; he told me that he got weekly calls to buy up the properties and he said no every time. I'm glad to see the expansions and no high rise in its place, but it's not the same as it used to be and that makes me a little sad. Not sure that I will be back, either.

I’ve been going to FLL since the late 80’s , back then Wilton’s Manor was a shady trailer park.

I use to work at Legends restaurant besides Ram Rod. I remember the trailer park. As I also worked at Galanga use to party at Salvation, Crow Bar. Those fun days are gone Cheers 🇨🇦

In the video, we highlight day passes as options at both gay resorts to still go and enjoy the amenities if it’s too pricey to stay overnight. Sounds like a great option for you!

Have you ever been to Florida? Perhaps check the Visit Fort Lauderdale web page where the town celebrates being one of the most welcoming and progressive places in America. One person does not make the whole state evil. He’ll be gone soon enough, especially with the influx of New Yorkers post Covid!

@@gerardguida7727 Is it ridiculous to be will informed & concerned for the safety of others? Really? FL literally has a don't say gay bill, teachers can't even have pictures of their spouses on their desks & they're taking any books that even suggest gay people exist out of libraries. SB 254 would take licenses away from providers (including felony penalties) who give gender-affirming care; and it would prohibit Medicaid from covering gender-affirming care. HB 1521 criminalizes transgender people for using the restroom that matches their gender identity. & don't act like Pulse Nightclub didn't happen. If you're not concerned for your safety in this environment that's on you, don't sh*t on other people who are looking at the big picture of what's actually going on.

@@10-OSwordsYou won’t have any problem in Wilton Manors or Miami Beach. They are two big gay destinations. I agree, north Florida is a whole different scene but you’ll have a blast in South Florida. Nobody will bother you. There’s even a gay beach in Fort Lauderdale.

Some peoples’ lives do depend on the pink dollar. That’s why we focus on promoting gay-owned businesses so they not just stay afloat but thrive. Boycotting Florida gay-owned businesses only hurts gay business owners not politicians.

I use to live in Fort Lauderdale back in the day 90’s it was fun and cheap those days are gone I will pass as well
