I'm a mom and when that young man went for the gun I lost it. It would break me to lose my son. Even worse would be losing him to suicide and that he felt it was his only choice because he's bisexual, gay, trans, or non binary. That's my baby, my world and I love him no matter what or who he becomes. I am so sorry that anyone has ever had to endure having parents who do not feel the same way. My sister had a friend that was openly gay when he was at school where he was accepted, not bullied. Unfortunately he had no such support system outside of his friends and was forced to live a double life to keep his parent’s love. Over the years they had made it clear that if one of their children ever “turned gay” they would kick them out on the spot, completely disowning them. Homophobic “jokes” and hate slurs were common around the dinner table. I think they realized he was gay long before and thought that the threat of losing their love would turn him straight. Graduation is an exciting time for most kids but for him it meant losing the only unconditional love he had ever known - his friends. I can’t imagine the abandonment he must have been feeling as they all went their separate ways at the end of senior year. He couldn’t stand living a double life any longer but knew that would mean being homeless and losing the parents that he loved, no matter how much pain they caused him. It was all too much for one 18 year old to cope with and a few weeks after graduating from high school he got his father’s gun and committed suicide. The only thing worse than a child being bullied by another child is a child being bullied by their own parents. It is a bullying that can not be escaped at the end of the day and one in which the child can’t fight back and defend themselves. They literally bullied their own child to death.

Having shitty parents is no laughing matter. Few people in your life as an adult will understand why you don't speak to your parents. We struggle with thinking something is wrong with us, because our parents didn't love us, but only how we made them look. My mom asked my friends shit like, why did you hang out with my daughter? She's a loser, and no one likes her. Are you sure you want that reputation? I always stick up for my mom back then.. I mean why would you say that about your own child?

Ive always loved the song, but about 2 years ago I learned my connection to the song was stronger than I ever knew. I'm white, 6'6" 260lbs, I played college football, and after an injury, I followed my dad into law enforcement. I know my profession may not be very popular right now, but whether you believe me or not, I love my job. I dont care who you love, or what color your skin is, my job is to prorect the victimized. I have two hero's in my life, first my pops, he worked 37 years in law enforcement, and served 25 years as Chief of Police. He actively sought out diverse officers to better reflect his community, he was ridiculed for firing long tenured officers, who expected to be coddled until retirement. Most importantly, with my mom, and he raised my two sisters and I right. Here's an example of his fortitude. One morning a neighboring police agency, called to tell him my, older sister was caught at a bar drinking underage. He simply told the Sergeant to do his job, Beth recieved an underage drinking citation, she went to court recieved a reduced fine but had to perform 40 hours of community service. She recieved no special treatment. Currently my hero is my little sister. She is smarter, stronger, and more brave than I will ever be. See, like me, my little sister wears a bulletproof vest, a gun, and a badge to work. Like me, when you call for help at 330 AM on Christmas Morning, she turns on the lights and sirens on her car and risks her life, to get to you a little quicker. Like me she has seen the ugly results of violence, and hate. She has seen death, and like me she has had to knock on a strangers door in the middle of the night to tell them a person they love has died. As cliche as it may sound, I know for a fact, that my little sister would give her life to protect someone else. However what really sets Megan above any cop I know is that, like me, she loves an incredible woman. I love my little sister, but I know for a fact! That I said shit as a teenage boy that was incredibly hateful towards my little sister... honestly I'm crying just writing that sentence. I'm sorry, and no matter what you're told, YOU MATTER!!! I BEG YOU TO REACH OUT FOR HELP. I'm sorry for dragging on...but Ive never fully appreciated the opportunity my job provides me until recently. Five years ago, one of the first things I ever did as a police officer, on my own without a training officer was provide directions to a bar. What makes this, usually benign encounter relevant, is the fact that I gave two black men directions to a gay bar. They initially asked about "alternative" bars, they clarified what they were looking for, and we laughed. Until recently I never appreciated how difficult it must have been for them to even approach me let alone ask for what they did. Again please dont give up, you matter and there are people who care about you! Also this may make a difference, we are catholic. As a matter of fact my mom is still a 5th grade teacher at a catholic school. Despite what people say, they are not God, and their judgment doesn't fucking matter.

I'm a straight male and at times have used vulgar words when talking about gays and I feel like shit for ever doing so. I have never had an issue with someone being gay I just hate that I carelessly used words that were offensive even though they were never directed towards a person. I will forever think about this video and try my hardest to catch myself if I ever use words like that again. I can barely type this because I'm still shook up. It really got to me when the guy with the beard (sorry I don't know his name)cringed at 7:38 when that kid looked like he was gonna pull the trigger. This is a fact that lots of Christians/ Catholics dont understand, they don't even know what God wants. The fact people's hatred of gay people is stronger than their love for their own family says so much about what kind of person they must be.
@spiderguy01 Жыл бұрын
It’s not hatred towards gay people ,it’s their life decisions and I mean you can’t really blame a father for being disappointed or at least sad ,that doesn’t mean they’re gonna stop loving their child but in a society like ours parents aren’t taken seriously anymore ,not even when it comes to their kids mental health, we promote 15 year olds being able to get a surgery to “change” their sex ,or parents not having a word over their kids lives at all. The gay community is no longer systematically targeted or discriminated ,that’s the biggest myth in the world ,how come the most “discriminated and oppressed” group on the world has so much power over the entire world? In some countries you can even go to jail if you refuse to serve a homosexual person even if it’s your restaurant ,you can go to jail for “misgendering” someone ☠️, they have control over people freedom of speech ,that’s the ultimate level of privilege there is. And people say “it’s their lives let them live” but won’t apply the same for people who disagree with them ,it’s hypocrisy, there’s no such thing as systemic discrimination towards gay people anymore ,people can have their opinions and different values and beliefs but that’s a totally different thing ,specially when yall call those people who think differently “homophobic” and try to cancel them at all costs for disagreeing with you.
@TheOfficialDirtyDan11 ай бұрын
@@spiderguy01number one, you gotta be 18 and up to get the actual surgery to become transgender, so no it’s not 15! You can definitely get diagnosed with Body Dysmorphia and etc but not much more, and you have to be 16+ to be able to get estrogen/testosterone injections, so no. You’re wrong there, and number two, why shouldn’t it be? Do you know how many people have been killed just for walking down the street being transgender, gay, etc? So many. U dont go using ur fork with a fork to eat a steak or charge ur phone with a fucking male plug to a male plug. It doesnt seem right, right?? So come on people, wake up and realize that isnt right and we should stop doing that cus its not something humans should do.

Because we as straight males tend to put a huge wall between us and gay men . When really theres no difference other then the liking other men part lol . But I think the I'm not gay but part is just straight men trying to make it clear there "masculine" and w.e and trying to relate at the same time .

Logic is one of my all time favorite rappers. He has pulled me out of some of the darkest places in my life... Especially when it came to suicide and depression. He is a very under rated rapper who deserves more recognition ❤️ I actually am getting a quote from this song tattooed on my wrist, In honor of my life, my story, my survival. This song brings tears to my eyes almost every single time!😭 You're boys reaction to his music video REALLY broke my heart... This song truly means something to me because of certain challenges I had faced in life. But seeing you both, I couldn't imagine what that must have felt like growing up in the 🏳️🌈 LGBT community😞 You both are so strong and I am blessed to see you standing up for what is right(Which is love.) and portraying the love you both have on screen for all of us to witness!❤️ I love you boys. Thank you for giving my man Logic some real recognition!!! Means so much to me. This reaction made my entire day alittle more brighter... 🌤😘

Everyone goes through some of the same phases (walking, talking...ETC) and others have other phases. Omggggg I never realized that part he got kicked out! I must have missed the scene of him sleeping in the school somehow! I always thought he had just gone to his crushes house for a sleepover I didn’t realize they were taking him in bc he got kicked out.... so that’s what it was supposed to be. Like he showed up there when he got kicked out then they got caught in bed together and he was kicked out of there too. I saw him sleeping on the desk etc but I always thought that was just bc he didn’t WANT to go home or wasn’t sleeping bc of the stress from life and profound sadness and that they were trying to show he was becoming exhausted with life... and like I said I somehow missed the scene he’s sleeping by the stairs. Wow. Not that it changes much but it just adds so much stress to the situation. Even the feeling of “we were kind enough to let you in and you do this! You corrupt our son!” and knowing people are looking at you like “BAD DOG” is the WORST FEELING. Especially as a teen or young adult. This video is something else. It made me cry so hard the first time I saw it and I’m SO thankful they made it end happily or I think I woulda become depressed for a spell myself! Wow. So moving. Oh and also...... I thought it was SO BEAUTIFUL how they show the boy calling for help and then cut right to his future like as if to say, look at all he’d have lost if he died at 16? Omg I’m getting choked up just typing it. Please young people if you feel that way ask for help. I’m begging you. I promise you you can make it through those years and get to college and meet people who love and accept you no matter what kind of weirdo you are (and I mean that in the nicest way). Don’t end in the middle of the story. It’s like when you watch a movie and everything has gone to shit.... you don’t turn it off then, you watch and wait til,they turn it around. There is always a way! I’m a recovering heroin addict and know sadness and rejection (by everyone and society as a whole) in such an extreme way most of you probably can’t even imagine how it feels. I’ve also hit a place where I finally lost EVERYTHING- every friend, every hobby, every single thing that gave me even a drop of joy. And I’m so thankful I didn’t give up. Somehow I kept crawling through hell. I called that number when I was 19..... and now I’m 33, and sober and happy in a way I sincerely thought people were bull shitting about. Is every day good? No. But I’d rather be here for the good ones than risk potential nothingness. What if this life is all there is? No after life, no second chance. Just stick around for the whole thing. Please don’t give up.

As a gay man this video REALLY HITS HOME! I left home at the age of 19 years old, I knew that I was different since about 8 years old. I tried to date during high school with girls but deep down I knew that just is not who I am. I left home in the horrible way I child could leading my parents to believe that I was going to house sit for a friend for a month, but really I was leaving HOME! My ride to work was meeting me at 6:30am in the back of my house by the road where she always did pick me up. She knew that day I was leaving home. She was ready for anything... I grabbed all my belongings in garbage bags got up before my parents did and left. My ride showed up on time just as my Dad came running out in his boxer shorts, YELLING at me but it was too late I was already in the car and on my way! I never looked back. A few days later my father contacted me at work wanting to talk. I agreed to it as I figured it was time I came out! Lets just say the talk didn't go so well but my parents became my BIGGEST protectors over the years and were ALWAYS there for me NO MATTER What! I am 51 years old now my Dad passed at 67 years old from Cancer .... My Mom is now 89 living with Dementia I am her primary caregiver living with her and making she is well loved for and all her needs are for the necessities of life are done! God bless you guys for doing this posting :-)

One of closest friends is gay and they were talking smack about him and the sexuality he chose to be so I got up in the middle of my math lesson and walked up the pricks who were saying all of the rude stuff. I asked one of them “what would you do if your bestfriend or your close loved one said they were gay?” He simply responded with “laugh and stop talking to them” I got so furious and grabbed his Gatorade bottle and dumped the Gatorade all over him. I knew the teacher was going to send me down to the office so I just walked back to my desk picked up my backpack and simply said “I’ll escort myself thank you very much” and I walked out with a small smile on my face. I got an in-school suspension but it was worth it.

As a bisexual woman who grew up with homophobic parents, I'm happy to say they're now accepting. Through the years, I made my mom meet some of my best friends that were gay and she grew attached to them. I never knew that would be what would change her. She used to hate gay people, and ever since I was a kid I always felt more attracted to women. I'm bisexual, but lean more towards women because I grew up with an abusive dad. He walked out when I was 9, and came back into my life a few years later. One day when we were having dinner at a restaurant together, I started crying and told him. He ended up telling me he accepted it, and ever since both of my parents have treated me the same. They still have their slightly homophobic moments, but what do you expect. I understand it and just remain calm. It's a lot to go from hating gay people, to pretty much accepting they can marry. I mean hell, my grandma even accepts it because my cousin had a gay best friend and she's loved him ever since they were kids. I cannot thank you guys enough for this beautiful video.

I think a lot of people that are mean to people that are different change if they can be friends with a person in that category. My uncle is gay and my parents purposely didn't tell any of us until we had had at least one gay/bisexual friend for exactly that reason. They wanted to make sure we knew and loved someone who wasn't heterosexual so that we wouldn't shun our uncle or even just act weird toward him because we didn't know how we were supposed to behave. Mostly, I got a little sad after I found out though because certain things started to make more sense. Why he and my grandparents (especially my grandpa) were awkward with each other, why he never got married, etc. I was even almost mad that my parents made me wait until I was a teenager to know he had a partner who had been by his side for a very long time (somewhere around 30 years now) but I understand why they did. They wanted to protect him a much as they could.

The blind, unbridled hate in these comments doesn't even anger me anymore...it's sad and awful to see how ignorance and fear makes people the way they are. You two are so right though. I am bi, although prefer women - is that pan? Who knows. The above is part of the issue - we are who we are. No labels needed. But I feel what you two mean. Being a teen and growing up in the late 80s and 90s...just for wearing a purple shirt one day the gay slurs started. Colored hair, they started harder and not until high school ended did they stop; only because we were all now split up. Even now only a few of my friends know. My mother is wonderful. This is a KZbin comment so I guess it's out now, but as I sit here in my early 30s I still can't just go out and say it. Having been called such horrible things and -told- what I was and how I was garbage....all because of 90s homophobia and a purple shirt....I think, why come out now? I lived through it once, it hurts too much for me to go again. It's awful. Being forcefully silenced out of fear for the pain. You two are wonderful, so positive and straightforward. I normally hate react videos but this was great. Thank you both. Maybe one day I can get to a place in my head where I can be as happy as y'all are. Much respect and love. Be well.

Ive watched this video repeatedly. Im a black mother of 4 sons. I was raised that gay men were immoral and the things they do betweenst each other was a crime against nature. However as I matured, I finally realized, MY NAME IS LINELLE, NOT JESUS. WE HAVE ALL FELL SHORT OF HIS GLORY AND WHO THE HELL WOULD I BE TO JUDGE. I LOVE ALL MY CHILDREN, AND REGARDLESS IF IT WAS ONE OF MY 4 SONS OR MY ONLY DAUGHTER( BECAUSE I HAVE 5 CHILDREN TOTAL), I WOULD NEVER WANT THEM TO FEEL UNLOVED, NON-IMPORTANT, WORTHLESS, UN-SUPPORTED BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY PREFER IN THIS LIFE. OUR ONLY JOB IS TO LOVE OUR CHILDREN, PROTECT OUR CHILDREN FROM HURT, HARM, AND DANGER. PROTECT THEM IN ALL WAYS WE CAN AND LET JESUS( OR WHATEVER DEITY ONE MIGHT PRAY TO)HANDLE THE REST. NOONE ON THIS EARTH BROUGHT LIFE ABOUT, NOONE ON THIS EARTH IS ALL SEEING, ALL REGULATING, ALL POWERFUL BEING, AND NOONE ONE ON THIS EARTH CREATED A HEAVEN OR HELL IN WHICH OUR SOULS SPEND ETERNITY. HE (SHE) WITHOUT SIN, LET THEM CAST THE FIRST STONE.

I'm a straight male, but gay men just fascinate me. They fascinate me cause Its foreign... I don't get it but I don't have to. I'd be lying if i said I wasn't homophobic to an extent years ago but it came from a place of ignorance. Its 2018 and things really have changed. It breaks my heart that because of what society says is normal, people are killing themselves, or even just putting an act on their whole lives. Be yourself, be proud to be yourself, love who ever you want to and fuck the people who have something negative to say about it. There's a lot more people in this world who will accept you for who you are than hate you because of your sexual preferences. . We're born and we're separated along every possible axis. Rich or poor, white or black, boy or girl, gay or straight. They're just hurdles to overcome that say were different. We are all unique but we are all one as well. I see it as us being like the cells in the body that make up god. Idk why we come here but I got a strong sense of knowing that in the place we go next were are connected. We are all made up of the same stardust that makes up the universe. I struggle with severe anxiety and depression and trust me know living can be hard at times. But suicide is a permanent solution to temporary problem. You might think you have nobody and nothing to live for but that's not true. It gets better. It always get better. You've got to give it chance to get better. If you're somewhere thinking about suicide think about all the people you're letting down. I've been there, almost went through with it but I'm so glad I didn't. Life has ups and downs, sometimes the down times seem like they'll never end but they always do.

That video made me cry too 😢 I think a lot of us can relate to this. I am also a "suicide survivor"... the last time I tried was over 15 years ago now. I hung myself in my parents garage. My mother came home and found me shortly after I had lost consciousness. I still have faint rope scares around my neck and a gash on the back of my head. My mother told me she grabbed me by the legs, but couldn't hold my weight so when I was released from the rope, my knees bent and I fell backwards hitting my head on the corner of a weight bench in the garage (what I stood on). The only thing I remember is stepping off the bench,then my view point got smaller and smaller while everything started to go black...the next thing I remember was lying on the floor feeling cold. I also remember feeling cold liquid dripping from my head (blood). I was surrounded by paramedics and their flashlights shining in my eyes, and I could hear my mom crying. I was eventually sent to the hospital and I was "evaluated" for a few weeks. Things slowly changed after that once I started opening up. It was a long road, but I am now so thankful to be alive...And I am so proud of our community and others who support us. Thank you
