I’ll be 60 this year, I’ve just last year started to work on forgiveness and letting go of my anger. Healing from self love deficit disorder.

It is so hard to forgive for me; when you repeatedly hurt me, by forgiving the person, I felt that I would be accepting the rejection. But I do, intellectually understand, the power of forgiveness. I just find it difficult.

@@pointpleasant6708 - oh, yes! It's not easy and I find I must do it over now and again because the anger resurfaces from time to time. It's still worth it, remember you forgive them for your own spiritual health not for their sake.

There are many people who go through their lives never having learnt what this remarkable man has understood- the power to forgive, and in the forgiving, the liberation from hate, misery and pain. More power to him and hoping he goes from strength to strength on his journey through his life.

Forgiveness is a very difficult thing to come. It’s almost as difficult to come by as is self acceptance. When you can muster up both, you can heal and move forward. Thankfully this man was able to do it for himself. Sadly, I know some adults who still can’t do either.

It took years for me to fully grasp the concept that blood doesn't make someone family love and loyalty does. So overwhelmed with joy this man triumphed over his childhood and became the wonderful hearted guy he appears to be today. Forgiveness is so you can fully emotionally move on from all that pain and anger. Beyond the visual natural outer beauty he possesses it is truly apparent that his inner being is just as beautiful. He'll truly make someone a wonderful partner for life. A true rare 💎 he is. Some people do not realize that you can truly forgive someone and still love them yet have nothing to do with them. God bless this wonderful man. He's the kind of man many of us dream of finding💛💗💛

For some reasons I can’t explain, forgiveness is a gift I received at a very young age. When I hear a story like yours , having to overcome suffering and injustice before being granted with that blessing, I am deeply moved by this strength of heart and soul. I have always forgiven every things my siblings did to hurt me. Not only about my sexuality but all aspects of my successful life. In the last two years, I went through cancer, many surgeries and like all my life long, went through it alone. Now that I just turned 60 years old, I finally had to take total distance with them all and despite everything, I had to kill the unconditional love I had for them. Mourning relatives whom are still alive is the hardest thing to assume. I cried and grieved by myself and after this life crisis, I started to feel relieved and freed from a love waisted for the sake of French Canadian catholique respect of the family. I wouldn’t say I wish I would have came to term at your young age with inside suffering, but I am thankful that you shared your story, it makes me appreciate your strength of heart and soul. It made more than my day, I will always remember how much help you share with so much more people than you can imagine. I considered it was and honorable duty for me to speak out in the name of all those who won’t but wish they did. No shadow will ever kill the light of purity and goodwill shining within a loving person.

u sir are awesome. that forgiveness is key. i would like to add to this, that if your family is unable or unwilling to apologize, and still attempt to cause you pain, you can still forgive them, and not subject yourself to their behaviors by distancing yourself from them, if you are able to do so.. this will actually aid in the process of forgiveness.

I don't understand the concept of forgiveness. If anybody, whether a parent, grandparent or other family member disapproved of me for being gay, I would not waste a precious second of my time on them. If someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time. I happen to have loving, intelligent parents, but if they ever disapproved of me for being gay, I would have no problem telling them to go F... themselves and not look back. That is what I was taught; unconditional love. What parent is so selfish to allow some religion or belief to dictate what makes a child worthy of love and acceptance. You are who you are. You can't change that. I have never hated a person for being straight. Straight people were born that way, just like me being born gay. So no, I have no sympathy for homophobes, family or not.

I do not agree with the notion and the action that forgiveness is the responsibility of the victim. Yes I understand what people have to do but I think it needs to be a two way exchange.

Maybe because of all the trauma, he was pushed to adopt a certain lifestyle because love, no matter where it comes from, is better then no love. And because his father was not in his life, he sought masculine energy love. Just a thought.
