In science, "phobic" actually means the dislike or avoidance of something. Many people believe it means just to be scared of something. Edit: I dont know if im right or not because most comments say im wrong, while the 7k likes seem to agree with me
@TheworstchannelpostingАй бұрын
You just can't make your definition for shit like women did with phobia/phobia or you desperately trying to be part of the case becasue you want pussy. The only definition phobic or phobia ever had, is an intense, irrational, and persistent fear of a specific object, situation, or activity. Simple Google search. Don't agree with shit becasue you think that's how it should be. Women have a long way to go before they develop logic, and the men who ride their coattails have even further. Men talking about women and women talking about men is content for people who can't hold or get into a relationship. Especially when it's illogical like this. Nobody's thinking about gays ever until someone like her brings them up. And boys said shit was way becasue we were boys and we will call everything way and at the same time play grab ass and call each other day and becasue women are so emotional yall made that yalls life goal to fight against. Something that doesn't exist is "homophobia." Not a single person on earth has a phobia of way people. Men are scared of other men not a man that wants to act like a fucking princess. Some men hate gays. Theirs is a huge distance. You run from things you're afraid of, not bash harass and kill. Another reason why all these red pill and women-brained platforms are crumbling.

@@charlybravo1354 In linguistics, words can have different meanings or connotations in different contexts. Nice try, buddy. Does hydrophobic oil have an irrational fear of water?
@charlybravo1354Ай бұрын
@@OmnipotentNoodle Actually: Yes, they do. But first, different contexts. The context here this is about people, not about chemicals. Regarding people, in science a phobia is a pathological irrational fear. Furthermore considering linguistics, dislike or avoidance is "avers", not "phobic". "Phobic" is a term only referring to pathological irrational affections. Pls don't try to misuse science, buddy! Second, regarding chemicals: yes, hydrophobic oil shows an irrational inexplicable (in past times) behaviour towards water as if it had fear ("phobos") of water. Hence this phenomenon was named "hydor" (water) + "phobic" (fear of). Conclusion: calling people "-phobic" who do not show pathological attitudes is reprehensible misuse of science, is disinformation.
@blarghblarghАй бұрын
@@charlybravo1354 do you have a problem with the term homophobia? if yes, what is your suggested replacement? cause bigotry is too broad. if you don't have a problem with it, then kindly step down off the unearned high horse. language prescriptivism isn't "doing a science", and we're not at all speaking in an academic context here, so colloquial terms are just fine actually. and to go further: doing a bigotry is reprehensible. don't try to science-wash it by trying to sneak in this moralistic argument in the middle of a decoy semantic argument.

It confuses me why some Christians hate lgbtq+ so much just because of one verse..

As funny as this whole thing was you honestly hit a nail on its head here. Homophobia itself is just so stupid and built upon a toothpick foundation yet it's annoyingly pervasive, especially where I live. Oftentimes the same dudes that are virulently homophobic will also be misogynistic in one way or another which I find funny. Of course you won't be satisfied in a relationship if the entire dating pool consists of people you don't like. One of the worst things too is that because much of homophobia is rooted in specific religious beliefs, there's not much an individual can do there. I can show them why homophobia is illogical yet in deconstructing their homophobia, I have to deconstruct everything they know about their religion, which is not only a highly difficult task but could cause more harm to them than good If people could just live and let live unless actual harm is being done think most of our problems as a species could be solved. Unfortunately everyone has their own idea of what constitutes harm and some have notions more arbitrary and farfetched than others
