My baby grandson just turned one and I have only seen him twice, and I haven't been able to visit my 89 year old mother in the nursing home. I think your decision to see your family is a good one! There are more then one kinds of health. Our hearts need family!

I watched Marta do her best to explain. She did so well I cried with her. I fully understand the need to not let the demand ruin your creativity. I tried once to use my love of quilting and doll making to earn extra money and sell items. Never again. I only made quilts and items afterwards for people I love. I now have limited eyesight but when I can I indulge in paper crafts. And only for fun. Life is way too short to not enjoy your family. Go and do virtual hugs and wallow in the love. I am afraid that life as we knew it is gone. Hugs ❤️

I enjoyed watching you create as usual. I sure hope you have a wonderful break with your family. Everyone wants you to be safe so I'm sure your family will take all precautions possible. I have been a fan of Marta (Maremi Small Art) for several years. She is very creative and wonderfully artistic. She is from Poland but lives in Ireland and has a very cute accent. She sometimes struggles to find the English word for something and occasionally will ask her adorable daughter for a word. She is very sweet and worth checking out.

We can totally understand your concern as we have not seen our oldest son and his family for 6 mos. He is a fire Marshall and fire fighter. We took the plunge and got our grandchildren for almost a week! Our hearts were overjoyed!! Then all our children were together for the first time since Christmas and it was wonderful! I hope you enjoy your time!

Hi, first I must tell you that I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Secondly you made me think about longevity and not been with family. Recently we were faced with a similar choice...we haven’t been together as a family for a long time due to lockdown. My niece turned 21 and we decided that we will take the necessary precautions but still help her celebrate. Family is everything! Enjoy but be safe. Thank you for sharing your creativity. 😊

I saw Marime Small Art’s video too. Helped to know more about this topic. Sad it got so bad for her, but sounds like she now understands the need to create more margin in your life. Actually remember a teacher demonstrating with sand, pebbles, and big rocks once. The rocks were the important things...the things that matter the most to you or to have a good life. The pebbles were necessary things you had to do but didn’t value as much. The sand was things that really didn’t matter or contribute to your life in a significant way. We tend to let other people fill our jar with sand and pebbles so there’s no room for the rocks. It’s really best the other way around...rocks first, then pebbles, and sand last. Really stuck with me. Enjoy the time with your family! Have a great vacation. -Victoria Kay

Hope you have a wonderful and restful vacation, Gayle. My children celebrate their birthdays on the same day (July 7th) and I just had to give each a kiss (I wasn't offended that they wiped it off immediately). As you said, it was worth it even if it meant a shorter life for me. We continue to social distance, but it was heavenly to feel their cheeks again -- one is 40; one is 36!!

That was a fun project Gayle! I think being a part of a design team is a lot of obligations and too stressful! I think of crafting as therapeutic rather than a chore. Being on a design team, in my opinion, converts fun crafting projects into work projects instead with deadlines and expectations. I meant also to mention to you that I have bug people with wings in one of my digits kit called " timeless moments". If you like them, I'll share it with you!

We have made the same decision. We hadn’t seen our little granddaughter in person since Christmas (we go to AZ January through March). My daughter was so afraid we’d get the virus from them: even though they are very careful and work from home, little Josie goes to a daycare where they are also as careful as they can be. We decided this virus is going to go on for a year or more, and we have to learn to live with it. We have visited twice now, outdoors and with distance except for my little Josie. She’s all over me, and I drink it up and pray for protection. My goodness, I love that little girl and thank God for her every day. She just turned three.

Gayle thank you so much for making your videos ahead of your vacation. I must admit that had you not videoed ahead I would have went into Gayle withdrawal! I am so happy that you have decided to go and spend time with your kids and grandkids. My 25 year old daughter has confirmed case of covid right now. I absolutely hate myself for staying home and not seeing her more during the past months out of fear of covid due to my health conditions. It is truly a mother's worst nightmare not being able to be with her, help her and just even to see her. We are in Arizona, covid is now rampent here. My hope and prayers to you and your family for health and happiness. Gayle, I understand your fear...I live on Long Island in New York, in Suffolk County where we had over 45,000 cases of COVID...we sheltered in place, going out only when necessary, for over three months...my close friend across the street, a teacher, also sheltering at home, had a barbecue...her family and mine...although, I ventured over with some trepidation, I knew that they we’re safe...I am sure that your daughter and her family have been staying safe...wear your masks, see them...you will be fearful...that is to be expected, but since we do not know how long this virus will be around us, be careful, be smart, but try to be confident in your and your family’s efforts to stay safe and enjoy their company...we have to attend a funeral next week in Pennsylvania and I am very fearful, but how do I let my family down? We will go, we will be smart and stay safe and do everything that we do here at home to be smart and safe...wear a mask, wash our hands, apply hand sanitizer and social distance...and pray that this will all work itself out...hugs to you...be well...❤️❤️❤️

I hope you had a fantastic time with your family. How did Jimmy Joe do with his sitter? I need to go watch Rachel‘s video with your faux front card, I haven’t seen that yet. I made one almost a year ago now, hard to believe it’s a year, following your tutorial. I made it for my cousin for her birthday which is in August, same as ours, and I used some old pictures of her from when she was little, it turned out really cute. I also had watched Marta’s video about design teams. I can see where it would be a huge hassle if you’re on so many of them. She was apparently on quite a few from big companies because she said she also had to do all the social media stuff. I’m glad you gave up most of yours, you seem more relaxed. I think there’s probably a couple more you could give up too.
