Throwing accustions of genocide before the ICJ has ruled on the matter would impede that. That would stop Ireland having its case and arguments punitively dismissed by Israel in case the ICJ rules against the charge of genocide. As horrific as the situation is now, Ireland is better help right now for everyone thinking two steps ahead. South Africa doesn't need our help on this. The case they have put forward stands on its own merrit. If/when the ICJ rules that this is genocide, then ireland can make its case and include that crime without punitive dismissal by neyanyahu and this thugs.

Our government should not need the court to decide in favour of the case in order to recognise that. The government's position stands in stark contrast to the vast majority of this country's population, who overwhelmingly acknowledge the Israeli war on Gaza for what it is: a genocidal war on the Palestinian people. I also think it's embarrassing that the governments of Iran and Saudi Arabia have added their support to the South African case, while our government hasn't.

I couldn't help but cry listening to this. She did an excellent job at not only making her case but of reminding the world that these are children and mothers suffering and dying here. I have a two year old and I cannot imagine the terror of these families desperate to keep their little ones safe. The message on the whiteboard by that brave Doctor "we did what we could. A few weeks ago I saw footage of a boy in Gaza. He was crying. He was around 14 yrs. He survived three bombs around him that day. He was crying. He had just helped carry a headless body.
