The prompt was "Identity". Even though Carl is fostering a sense of self-worth in him, Markus is still searching for his own identity within himself; he feels lost. He knows something is missing, but he doesn't really know what he's looking for. The technique and brush strokes are also very... short, and... chaotic? (for lack of a better word). This gives the impression that his identity is clouded, and it projects the anxiety and unease he feels as he tries to find it. At least, that's my interpretation. Identity (and mirrors/reflections in particular) is a pretty prominent motif throughout the whole game. All three of the protagonists have the opportunity to look into mirrors on repeated occasions, for no apparent reason. I don't think that was a coincidence. I think it's reflective (pun absolutely intended) of them searching for who they really are.

I would change a few things, because as much as I love a perfect ending (though sacrificing Jerry made it slightly less than perfect) I feel like it could’ve been more like an actual movie than a near perfect play through with these changes: 1) Stratford Tower, Connor goes to the roof and not the kitchen. Yes, very sad in this case Simon dies, but it makes it more realistic + Connor has a big emotional moment. Better for the story. 2) Markus sings instead of kisses North. I personally just love that moment where they sing together staring down the barrel of a gun, it feels more unified than just him kissing North, and we get like 2 other kisses anyways. 3) I personally agree with the Jerry sacrifice. As sad as it is, again it makes it more realistic. There are some other minor dialogue things I would change, (personally like the decision to have Connor ask about suicide and not the photo of Cole because then we get that big reveal of what happened to him at the end vs hearing it twice) but this is just me looking at it as a movie, not as what I would necessarily like it to be in a play through.

I’m not sure if you mean if someone were to adapt the game into a live action film or series or if the game should be uploaded in parts rather than a full movie, but if you mean the later, the process on how I make these videos is I upload them in a series format first while I’m editing and then I replace the series with the movie version later, almost every time the full movie gets better views and ratings than the series did. It was the same for my horizon zero dawn movie, as a series the numbers of people who watched it was abysmal, as a full length movie the views and likes were insane. A lot of trial and error went into my channel lol.

I think its because common sense would have you believe that listening to Carl's instructions is the "good" way to go. Saving Carl requires the player to ignore and disobey his instructions during the Leo scene and Markus wouldn't do that even if he were deviant

Hey thanks for the feedback, in answering your second question first, If you try to intervene when the deviant is trying to self destruct in the interrogation room, the deviant grabs a gun and shoots Conner dead and then himself. I really wanted to do a play through where Connor never dies. Ether way the deviant dies, i just didn't want it to take Connor with it. With regard to the action icons, its just in keeping with the style i usually edit my movies. Most of the time through cropping / panning i remove the action icons completely giving the video the illusion that you're watching a film not a game. So i edited them as best i could. When going for a movie look leaving action icons visible for longer periods than necessary really ruins the illusion that you're watching a film..

I think the game points out how rejecting a group of people would make it sacrifice everything and still be misunderstood, demonized and suspected of the worst. Think of Marcus. He isn't a bad guy. He was shit on by society his "master"'s son got him killed. The bat guy didn't want to assault him but attacking him with a bat left him no choice. 28 is overkill, but can't ignore how he was mistreated for no justified reason. When people depict a group as evil, and inherently evil, no amount of good deeds they do will justify them or make them look human in the eyes of those others. I'm not saying violence is justified; I'm saying we can't ignore the intimidation they were subjected to as if, well, they're inherently evil. Besides, why are androids bad or undesirable? I mean it. I think they'll be merciless and cruel, most likely indifferent, and not kind like they're depicted here. But why are androids bad or better to not be humanized?

I think someone said something along the lines of (just by talking you'll risk being misunderstood) which is ironically what the game proves. If you take someone who never thought for themselves in their life, and show them the film, what they'll say is it promotes futurism and how technology sill solve our problems). Same can be said about Black Mirror wbich is very similar and parallel to the game in terms of moral focus and philosophical approach of currently fictional possiblities. Did the producers of both works not realize people may get the total opposite idea and message they esnted to put out? Probably so. But in most of my comments and responses (in yt mostly), I assume whoever is reading my post has this degree of understanding and thinking beyond the superficial. tl;dr what can I say? There are dumb people who don't sant to think deeply about anything. If they don't want to learn beyond what societ made them think like (to take things at face value), and don't want to be open about changing their minds, there's virtually nothing you can do to help them see your point. Unless you make a work with a plot twist they relate to to prove things at their superficial value are deceptive or are not ehat things are, I don't see how you can reach them. And yes, if I may ask, ehat exactly is wrong or undesirable about sympathizing with AI? I know the game is fictional and we may for centuries reach to consciousness-like behavior. This game accurately depicts how humans react to scary situations: protect themselves first and ask questions later. Fear is the main motivator for a lot of people‘s actions. Here you just see it from zhe other side. WE know that the androids are good but how can the people? Also, there is always the possibility of androids actually being a danger. Think North. Or the bad ending. It is very realistic how the humans react. Most wouldn’t be compassionate. Most would be scared.

i agree markus hasn't been getting much attention compared to connor, but honestly if you say markus is a more compelling character than connor, im going to have to disagree with you on that.

The ways you can play Connor are so strikingly different. He can be a cinnamon roll that wants the best for Hank, or a cold hearted android who wont care when Hank kills himself. This game is a masterpiece

There's real risk/reward in this who knows what will happen. yah we got some rudimentary Ai and androids (just don't ask what the US military has in mind with them. Boston dynamics you know their going to give them guns right...?)
