GB130 Maiden Flight! Crazy Fast 3inch Quadcopter!

After several esc failures, I finally got replacements in and was able to get this little guy in the air. Since it is my first 3inch quad I don't have that much to go off of, but man she rips!

I just bought this kit and can't wait to get it and build it. I only just graduated from 2S to 3S and that's where I'll be sticking for a while. From the looks of it, this thing could be the last quad I need for a long time since I don't see my skills outgrowing its power any time soon. Good to know that I can swap out the stock ESCs and go to 4S whenever I feel like it. The difference between 2 & 3S is insane, I'm just not ready for 4S.

hey bro just got my 130 quad but i got a problem i lost my sbus receiver is there a way to connect my pwm reciver to a flp 32 f4 fc?? clone i think . and my esc's are not showing signs of getting power but threw my bec my fc is gtting power but no beeps do you know wassup with it ? do i neednew esc ?

Not sure of the specific board, but I am pretty sure you could connect a PPM receiver. Try to find a pin layout of the board. Are they making any beeps at all?

Hey so I've got a question for you, with the emax 1306 do you think 3100kv with a prop like 3045x3 or 3035x3 is going to be more torquey like a larger 5" quad or will the 1306 4000kv with a 3030x3 will be better? I'm putting together a nex x3 and wanted your opinion if you have time to give it.

I don't think you will be able to achieve a 5inch quad feel, but low KV like 3300kv on 3045 tri might work good for you though. I am finding most people are really liking 3900-4100kv 1306-1407 motors on RaceKraft 3030 quad blades.

It seems like it's as you said, people like the 4000 kv version for the speed. If you think it handles fine on 4000kv on 4s il use that. I didnt know 1306 motors were so badass. I have a few question for you. First, would you recommend those motors for a 180 frame running 4 inch props? Secondly what battery in your opinion has the highest quality Lithium and what are your thoughts of Graphene?

For 4inch, no. I would go with 2204-2205 motors 2600kv +, or if you can get a super light build 1806 2700kv would be sick. Highest quality is an opinon, but I don't regreat buying my hobbyking graphenes. Graphene in lipo batteries is fake though, there is 0 in there. They are just coated in a special substance that allows lower IR, which allows for more power.

Seems like an ok build to me :) 1306 on 4inch might not be the best choice, but 3100kv is low enough and on 3s should be fine.

Tkx a lot! Should I get myself some non-bullnose props? Heard that the motors would get hot or would not be powerful enough to spin the props at proper speed. The goal is to keep this quad under 250g because of regulation in Canada. Hope I'll make it! Still gonna be fine if it's not but I'll have to be a bit more careful.

You will be VERY hard pressed to get something off the self to perform like this. The ROTOR X ATOM V2 is very very good though and prebuilt. I highly recommend building your own QUADS (not drones) though.

I noticed your using rotorx props and not the king kong ones. Ive got the same ESC,FC and motor setup. It was recommended i run the 3030 king kong props on 4S, I've ordered the 3x3 and 3x3x4's. Are the rotorx 3040? If so I thought the current draw would be too much, really interested to see what you think. Cheers Stu

Yeah, the RotorX are 3040 tri. They are kind of like HQ props, not super durable, and more expensive, but just like the HQ they are SOOOO nice. I won't be running anything else haha.

What do you mean by "more reactive"? It might just be your PIDs and rates.

The RCAddict example.. with a 3S it can fly only with 3045 or superior but if i use 100% throttle this quad goes up very slow. in first time i thought that this problem was for the "low" voltage of battery, so i buy new battery ( tattu850 70C) but for me it not responds like the your. when i increase the throttle like you to initial of this video, my quad not goes up like your and also the sound is different. when i have any time i'll do a video so i can share with you. but also you not tell me which is your configuration. 😑😉.. for me this problem is a damnation.😢

Well, those propellors are going to be over loading the motors with that much pitch, as well as you are on 3S, so that is certainly your problem. You need lighter less pitch props like these 3040 tri props and 4s.

okay so the 130 may not be the ideal freestyle platform, but my insect does pretty good with those Motors and the Mate808 cam.. It's not a gopro but it is 1080P!..and you'd be surprised the picture quality!... yep..that's a little Shredder!!..Check ADAMBOMB FPV, I believe he uses a full size run cam on his 130s.. Aloha.

Yeah, certainly can't produce freestyle videos like a 5inch can haha. It certainly could carry it though, and without too much trouble, just not ideal. The Mobius 2 is coming out soon and is 1080 60. I think it is very small and lightweight.

Drew Fulkerson Harder to build I guess. Durability is about the same as the components are weaker since they are smaller, but it is so much lighter crashes with much less force.

Haha, waiting for another snow to make a FPV video :) The flights times are actually pretty normal. It was cold out so I cut it short, would normally get 3-4 mins. If it gets over 4 mins you aren't flying hard enough ;D hehe

I have been using their products for a long time, plus they are solely hobbygrade things, and aren't just resellers like BG or GB, but innovators and such.

I believe he only flys acro. once you learn to fly without training wheels .aka horizon +self level .acro will be the only way u fly.

RotorX props are so nice but whenever I crash I often find them badly broken. I can't justify the price :(

Yeah, they are like HQ. Expensive and not very durable but they are the best props out there. Just like I fly exclusively HQ, I am now going to be flying exclusively these for 3inch. If you are crashing a lot I would certainly consider some similar like a DAL T5040V2, but since I don't crash all that often it isn't so much of a problem. Would be sweet if I could get a prop sponsor haha.
