GBA Lakeside Park is RETURNING to Mario Kart!

Nintendo just announced that GBA Lakeside Park will be making its grand return within the upcoming tour of Mario Kart Tour, and man does it look good!

It’s supposed to be like a Smokey dusk kind of thing, and it really does remind me of what it looks like when actual volcanos erupted, and it’s a good thing it’s a bit more unique since we already have grumble volcano with the nightmare reddish orange sky, that tint of purple is perfect!

If you've played Super Circuit, this is not Lakeside's night. In each lap, the environment changes from a calm and relaxing sky to a dangerous and violent sky.

Yes, the sky turns gray in the original when the volcano erupts. So it is another track with changeable skybox (which MK8D would NEVER)

I don't think it's a day-night cycle like Sunset Wilds. It's the volcano's impending eruption that covers the sky with ash clouds. In the original, as you pass lap 2, the sky darkens into a smoky red hue and the volcano erupts and starts showering lava boulders. At the final lap, the showering of the boulders intensify in frequency. Judging by the screenshots, it looks like you are going a very steep uphill towards the loop near the end of the track. I predict in Mario Kart Tour, it starts erupting halfway before Lap 2, and after you pass Lap 2, it intensifies.

I really like the look of Lakeside Park, I haven’t played it before but it looks really cool, the detail Nintendo give into Retro tracks in Tour, it’s just amazing, anyways, really looking forward to Yellow Yoshi and the full trailer tomorrow 😁

I think the volcano is also featured in Bowser Castle 3DS and SNES Bowser Castle 3

@Swiftjar supposedly all the track I'ds are starting to close with no sign of any more being found. Could be wrong, but that's what it looks like to me

@@kchads575 I doubt it. It could happen, but we only have 1 city track left to be added to Tour, which will also most likely finish off Athens Dash and Rome Avanti. I don't see Nintendo ending Tour before the BCP finishes up because of how Tour based the DLC is. Sure, they could just add already existing tracks each Tour, but I don't see them doing that for months up until wave 6's release.

@@Swiftjar The ID Gaps of all the other games are now closed and doesn't seem like it won't reopen, it seems like the only tracks left is Athens/Rome 3, SCS and MobMD

The devs have made really weird choices for the GBA courses in the BCP. Sky Garden was ehh, not my favorite but not my least favorite Snowland was great and fresh Boo Lake was also great and fresh Riverside was ok but Lakeside was a better choice Sunset Wilds is horrible and looks very generic. Yoshi Desert, Bowser Castle 4, Lakeside Park or even Luigi Circuit would have been better choices for some GBA courses in 8DX. Only 2/5 GBA courses are good in 8DX BCP but it's just my opinion

Before Tour ends I really want them to add all the SNES Tracks and the Final Super Circuit and 64 tracks which have never been remade.
