Monkhouse was the consummate host, he genuinely wanted all of these people to win, what was less in many cases, his fee for the programme. RIP to a legend. You could tell he'd made friends with all of the contestants before the show. Even more evident when he went to the BBC for Bob's Full House. While Max took on the torch at Central, completely useless, Bob raised his game. Good man. Love his style.

He was a technically good host. He kept the show going at a brisk pace and never tripped over his words, but I found his manner with the contestants to be rather smarmy and superficial. Les Dennis wasn't nearly as technically accomplished, but he was far more personable.

Happy memories of being a child etc proper Family Fortunes and no Vernon Kaye crap. Watched a bit the current version of All Star Family Fortunes today absolute nonsense the contestants behaving like fools if the gave wrong answers. Here whatever answer they gave didn't behave like morons just accepted whatever is said. Bob in his as a true professional and gentleman just congratulated them whether you won or lost in a proper manner.

No Vernon Kay crap that's true. But Crieky, if you thought it could never get worse than him, lower the bar further into the mire by daring to watch it now... GINO DE CAMPO for Christ's Sake!! 😝😝

When this was broadcast it would have had a slide immediately before the ATV ident with the Central logo and "Central Presents"

The ATV “In Colour” logo at 0:22 is from the UK airing of “The Muppet Show”.

That was plastered with the original Central logo when this edition of Family Fortunes was originally broadcast.

It's from any colour programme made by ATV.

@@Musicradio77Network There weren't any ITV repeats of the Muppet Show after ATV changed to Central. When the BBC repeated The Muppet Show in the mid-80s, they were issued copies of the US versions by Jim Henson Enterprises, so there was no ATV branding on those repeats.
