This results a much more manic, and intense effect. lets also not forget its a powerful anesthetic, and NMDA Antagonists have the potential for the treatment of depression. Ive taken PCP analogues, they allowed me to work through issues/trauma, and become a more compassionate person because of it. Of course there are risks, as there are with everything in life, and it takes a responsible adult to be able to make that decision.

As for most of them are high: most people drink or use drugs, full sobriety is rare. Not all Christians or right wingers are like that. As for life is better without drugs: the science shows that drug/alcohol use in moderation leads to better outcomes/reported quality of life than excessive drug use and complete abstinence. So yes drugs are generally good for people, cept for the small percentage of people with underlying mental health issues who develop addiction.

Also I’m sure you can find examples of Christian drug users, not everyone is evangelical or Mormon. Hell, Catholics even drink wine in church. Withdrawal is a phenomenon of negative side effects when stopping chronic high levels of a particular substance like Alcohol. I'd suggest you dive deeper into Dr. Hart's work outside of this one study. There is quite a bit of technical neuroscience he looks into proposing mechanisms biologically for addiction. Many of those have failed and he's utilizing this money study as one of the turning points in shifting his focus towards the psychosocial model of addiction.

This is interesting cuz this guy is focusing on the people who don't do stupid things when they do drugs, which are the vast majority of people and it is really kind of amazing that more people don't admit that. For starters the majority of people are people who are pretty much okay with their lives and don't need drugs anyway, the only people who do are people with some slight psychological imbalance and what may cause a chemical imbalance but sometimes people go through it, and find the world of rehab to be more to their liking. It's all looking about a place to be and it's not about just being around people who do drugs, that's the way the prohibition matrix makes it, where drug users have to flock into these under siege groups that are then assaulted by the drug police and their stupid ass tactics. The amount of money the cops have become reliant on from the drug war, the prison industrial complex, annual budgets to law enforcement paid for by our taxes... its in the trillions annually. Highest incarceration rate in the world, by several multitudes. With high probability of those convicted reoffending or being stuck in lesser quality of life as the record follows them for life, and effects housing/employment. E: Large scale corruption (from the monetary potential of drugs-caused entirely FROM the prohibition) of our policing and judicial systems.... literally every level of law enforcement, from street cops all the way up to the CIA. G: Loss of personal freedoms for everyone, all based around the arguments of morality and safety. Its like a master class on how to make anything possibly conceivable (in regards to drug use) worse than any substance, or its use, ever could have been. You couldn't make a worse or more ass backwards plan if you spent a lifetime trying. The pinnacle of failure has been achieved, and promoted to this very day. Meanwhile, as Dr. Hart correctly pointed out, many other countries have long ago solved these issues, and/or would further solve these issues, if they weren't being bullied by the USA to continue the failed drug war.

You may feel it should be legal to drug yourself to death "just like you can drink yourself to death" but a 21 or 18 year old doesn't have the fully formed brain you do, and generally it's a lot harder to drink to death than OD. Puking, for example, as opposed to ODing before your body can react. There's always going to be a black market for drugs too, not so for alcohol. More opportunities to OD.

So why don't we have massive bootlegging of alcohol now? Because it's not worth it. People DO brew their own by the way (wine, craft beer, etc.) but it's cheaper to just buy it just like it's still cheaper to buy your weed on the black market. If heroin was legal, everyone would just get it legally, and it would be much cheaper... Weed is a bit different thing, but heroin and other drugs would be cheap in order to prevent crime, so people dont need to steal to get a drug... Comparing alcohol to opioids is very fair comperison, alcohol can be a lot more dangerous then opioids... Anyone educated would agree. Alcohol dependacy and addiction in a lot of cases is more harmful then heroin addiction and dependacy, in fact you can die from alcohol withdrawl, while you can not die from heroin withdrawal.. Average alcohol treatment lasts for about 15 years, while average heroin treatment lasts for about 7-8 years... After Switzerland legalised heroin, crime rates went down dramatically, overdoses went down, deaths went down... And btw, when alcohol was prohibited, there was more alcohol posioning, more alcohol overdoses and deaths, more crime... The same happens with drugs. Legal weed market won't stop black market of course, but weed is a little different thing when it comes to price and actual product...Its not that big of a deal, noone cares about black weed market...and majority of people will still buy legal weed rather then buying it from a dealer... But when it comes to heroin, or cocaine or other drugs, when legal, markets would be able to control purity, so you would know how pure your drug is... So everyone would buy heroin or cocaine from a legal market, rather then from a skechy drug dealer selling odd products... You can not be sure of what your heroin dealer laced a product with, bcs its from streets, unsafe product... But you can estimate on how good your street weed is, you can estimate that its not probably laced with any deadly or potentially harmful substance...bcs its just weed... But you can not estimate those kind of things with other drugs very easy, but if it was legal, you would know what you're getting, which would immidietly prevent harmful effects. When alcohol was prohibited, a lot more people was dying from it, bcs of sloppy street production, alcohol was much more toxic then today. When you have your street weed, you know its safe in 99% cases, but when alcohol and other drugs come from street, thats more dangerous. Just like with alcohol, most people just buy it legally. That would be true with all other drugs, most people would just buy drugs legally rather then buying it from a dealer... Weed is cheaper to buy on black market, acohol isnt...(at least some alcohol products, not all)...But other drugs would be similar to alcohol, cheaper on legal market... Like i said, weed works a bit differently, its easy to grow, easy to get, not many people will make their own alcohol illegally and sell it, bcs its not that easy to make alcohol... And still, most people will buy legal weed... Just like ciggarets... Ciggs are cheaper on black market, but most people just buy it in the store...

Public speaking before a stone cold quiet audience is intimidating for even experienced comedians. It's got to be even more difficult to talk on taboo subjects, albeit drug policy reform is becoming more and more accepted in modern society, after over 50 years of failed (federal) prohibition. I enjoy the concept your trying to prove and recognize validity in your views through out much of presentation, but I believe there's a few holes in it. I question where you get your data from. 90% of heroin users die as active using addicts, leaving only 10% that are able to obtain sobriety before dying. So the stats are: if you try heroin just, one time, you will have a 90% chance of life long use and never getting clean before you die. Your data falsely claims 85-90% of people who try heroin, never use it again and only 10-15% actually get hooked...

Here it is Feb 2024. Chronic Pain Patients being TORTURED all because of opioid hysteria. I have always been against prohibition, I’m 63, but after an Accident & shoulder surgeries that have ruined my life, millions in Chronic Pain are being controlled & denied pain medication that simply allows us to function in daily activities. We are denied functionality and PAIN RELIEF. Leading us to suicide or suffer till we have a heart attack or stroke… slow miserable existence to death. Our Government & entities want us dead ☠️ it’s intentional culling of the Boomers, disabled etc. I wish someone in Congress would invite Dr Hart to speak. But I honestly think they want us dead ☠️
