Love the looks of that little plane!! Shame they don't mKe it anymore! I'd put that one with my Sport Cub S, live flying that one as well.

Thanks. I was under the impression that you had to bind the airplane every time. I'll try turning the transmitter on first next time.

Good video...you always do a great job,! Now that I have " buttered" you up, lol, would you consider making a video on the programing of the Spectrum transmitter, I understand it would probably take several but I have watched videos of other people on KZbin and they are just not as "newbie friendly" as you are.

Im having a problem. Just purchased an A-10 Thunderbolt 2 and as soon as it binds, the controls work, but I then get a consistant non stopping BEEP!!!!! what are we doing wrong?
@TimMcKay563 ай бұрын
Do check the www.forum.flitetest.com They have a lot of good info. From a Google search there: I know that this is an old thread but for future reference... I bought the same esc motor combo that you have and was experiencing the same issue of the fast beeping. The ESC included in the kit does in fact need to be calibrated before use. To do this Plug one of your ESC three-wire cables into the throttle channel of the RC receiver. ... Turn on the transmitter and set throttle stick to maximum (full up). Connect the LiPo battery. You will hear a musical tone then two beeps. After the two beeps, lower the throttle stick to full down. For my transmitter I had to plug in the battery at full throttle wait a few seconds (for step 4 I heard constant slow beeping not 2 beeps), lower to 0, raise back to full and then go back to 0. This fixed my issue. You may have to play around with theses steps a bit as I noticed different brands of transmitters and ESC's have different steps to calibrate them

Hi Tim, let me start by saying thank you. Appreciate your effort editing / posting your videos, I have subscribed and watched many of yours. I retired almost 2 yrs ago after 32yrs working in commercial aviation. Hence my interest in RC Aircraft, although I am a true novice with the hobby. With all that said I have a DSX transmitter that was included with my purchase of HZ AeroScout RTF ….. have not flown it yet. I watched your video and suggestion regarding the UMX Radian so I decided to buy the BNF Radian. My research tells me I can Bind and use the DSX for the Radian. Question, will I need to re-Bind the DSX transmitter ea. and every time I want to alternate flying AeroScout and Radian?
@TimMcKay56 Жыл бұрын
MZ: Welcome to the hobby! I really am not that sure of the specifics of the DSX transmitter. Very often the transmitters that come with RTF models cannot be binded to other receivers. To find out in your case, try a chat with the technical department at www.HorizonHobby.com They can usually offer good advice. Assuming that you can bind the DSX to both the Radian and the AeroScout, you do not have to rebind each time to fly (again, this is assuming the DSX has some sort of model memory). If no memory, then maybe you will have to rebind. But, a better solution is to plan for the future and pick a brand of RC electronics and stick with it. As a general rule a specific brand of transmitters, receivers, etc. all seem to "work and play together" well. These days I highly recommend Spektrum. I do not get anything from Spektrum, but they really seem to have their act together. I use the Spektrum DX6 transmitter (which is getting long in the tooth these days) for all the models you see in the channel. The newer Spektrum transmitters are just great. I also recommend the Spektrum AR620 receiver. Small and lightweight with a built in antenna. My DX6 has a model memory of 250 models. Once a receiver is binded to that model, no need to rebind. For the benefit of all Americans who struggle to understand the English language, BINDED is an incorrect conjugation of the verb BIND. The correct past tense of the verb BIND is BOUND.

Does this same process work for the Eachine RTF planes (mini P51D, F4U Corsair, T28 Trojan)? They al come with a radio but would be great if I could use my DX8 or my FlySky radio. If they can, how do we set up they gyros correctly as they normally are on a 3 position switch?
@TimMcKay562 жыл бұрын
JF: Not sure how the binding will for the the RTF planes you listed. Sometimes the manual will give some information, as the RTF electronics are a lot simpler than the regular ones. For example, the Mini AeroScout manual is clear that the system will no bind to my Spektrum DX6 transmitter. Maybe plug the receiver in with no transmitter on, see if it goes into bind mode, then try and bind. Tim

@@TimMcKay56 the manual states to turn receiver on first, then the receiver to bind it. Would it hurt anything to try it? Don't want to screw anything up. But also as a new flier, I still use the stabilizer in the intermediate mode. Not sure how that would work with the non-provided radio.
@TimMcKay562 жыл бұрын
@@jefffox8991 Jeff, you can give it a try. Just about any receiver will have a rapidly flashing light to indicate that it is in "bind" mode. Once in the bind mode, see if it will bind with your transmitter, using the TX binding instructions (all transmitters can vary with this). Tim
