My husband had a drinking problem, no where near an alcoholic, but it affected our lives and the lives of our children. Fortunately the fact of quitting smoking , was our savior. After drinking quite heavily for 40 years I gave up alcohol during corvid as alcohol was making my anxiety caused by covid go through the roof...the first 12 months were hard but now I feel fantastic and the craving has gone....the only downside is it is very anti social xmas, birthdays weddings but I am never going back to alcohol
