@dendemano3 жыл бұрын
It's controversial to suggest that the topic is controversial. Oh yeah, my daughter recently informed me that not only is your gender no longer specific to your biological sex, neither is the name. The prefix "Cis" is now added to female to denote the correct way to describe a...eh woman. Make sense of that. I'm sure you were fully aware of the aforementioned detail. I wasn't. I'm still contemplating the new me, "Cisman". It has got a certain ring to it, lol...
@burleybater2 жыл бұрын
Well the answer to that question should be obvious. That it is not, isn't really controversial. Dysphoric perhaps. But that's something different. And all these years later, I'm still puzzled and amazed at how absolutely none of this crosses the aisle. I know the actual biological reasons are sound. But there it is - no man can honestly say that existentially, his concept of his own manhood is challenged by a trans-man. Therefor, proof positive that it is not at all the same thing. (Which may, um, suggest that men and women are actually different?) Just sayin'. Of course a woman is an adult human female. She is not 2+2=5.

There are two problems with this. First, we already have a fine expression for this; it's called 'gender identity'. A woman is easy to define. It's someone exactly like my Mum, your Mum, your Grandmother. Simple as that.

Being offensive is not an offense, that's all we need to establish beyond any doubt. It's about time some actually Conservative MPs (by which I don't necessarily mean Tory) tabled a new act of parliament enshrining the right to free speech, and the illegality of sacking people or discriminating against them for their opinions. If being offended, i.e. feeling affront at something, really matters then I'm sure we can all come up with a long list of things that people shouldn't be allowed to do in order to protect our sensibilities. I would include; Talking with your mouth full. Dropping litter. Sitting in a car with the engine idling for more than a few seconds. Cutting down long-established trees for any reason whatsoever. Buying plastic throwaway presents for children. Buying smart phones for children. Letting children stare at phones for hours on end. ...and many more, all these things irritate and cause affront to me and I'm sure many others but we live in a supposedly free society so I have to suck it up and learn to live with people that do this stuff. As must others learn to live with people who won't pander to their individual dislikes and foibles.

MY RIGHTS I am a 52 years ex-transwoman from Malaysia who is living his best life. I am married to a biological woman and we are blessed with two amazing children. I respect people’s rights to be transgender/whatever and in the same way it is our rights be ex-transgenders/detransitioners.

If it was possible to transplant a womb and ovaries to a man there would still be the issue that his hips are not designed to allow for the passage of a baby, but I'm sure that somewhere a surgeon could be found to attempt this rather Frankinstien procedure (probably in California)

Growing and birthing a whole new human is a full-body process, involving aspects of our naturally-occurring female physiology about which we are still woefully unaware. No manmade chop&swap can match hundreds of thousands of years of evolutionary development. This wouldn’t just be dangerous for the male patient - it would be utterly disastrous for any potential child.

@@beatrixkiddvideo2404 they have done it with rats in experiments and its highly highly disturbing. They castrate the male rat, implant a uterus, then sew and conjoin a female rat to the male rat to get the pregnancy hormones from the female to the male which they ivf fertilize then do a c section to deliver the rat pups. Animal abuse in the name of 'reproductive tech.' They are using these rat models to try and get males pregnant. I spoke up to my professor about the nature of these experiments and he replied it was 'to see what was possible' i was disgusted

1/3 Mel e thank you for putting the info out there - I’ve heard of those particular e x p e r i m e n t s. I was a kid in the 1980s when public awareness about a n i m a l a b u s e was “trendy” - I watched a movie with Matthew Broderick called “Project X” and it stuck in my mind forever. Greenpeace was in the news a lot.

2/3 Mel e Not many people seem to care anymore that billions (with a b) of h e l p l e s s a n i m a l s are s u b j e c t e d to c a p t i v i t y and h o r r i f i c t o r t u r e so that scientists can justify their studies and the grants or funds they receive to do them. In the arts departments it’s “Publish or d i e,” but in science it’s “experiment and make our partners/institutions more $$ or d i e.”

I'm not anti trans, and i understand that there are people born as men that feel like they're a woman and vice versa....but they are not women, they are men. The term transvestite was the label that was given to men who liked to dress as a woman for whatever reason they felt like, but they are still men. I'm happy to label a person 'trans' but i'm not happy to label a man as a woman and give rights to men to be able to use female only facilities. You have to be a bit sick in the head to allow 'men in frocks' into female only areas, so maybe it's time to make toilets and changing areas single person use and not have open areas within these spaces. At least this way we could guarantee safety for everyone.
