Turns Joost was filmed just after the Thursday performance even though that was against the EBU rules. He told the person to stop more than once and when that person kept on going Joost made a threatening gesture. Didn't touch the person. And because of that he is disqualified. More countries have complained they were filmed and that was against the rules.

To my opinion the camerawoman should be the one who should be expelled from the event by disrespecting contestants. She deliberately did not respect Joost request not to film him right now. EBU rules seem to be guilty before investigation and a judge looking if the law was broken. If he is proven to be guilty then you can take actions like taking his place away whatever it was. The EBU is a private organization and don’t need to have a police report or conviction to make decisions about who competes or is removed for breaking their rules. They clearly investigated on their own behalf and ruled that Netherlands broke the rules of the EBU. They decide what is right and wrong for their show not the law.

Just in Dutch news: Joost was filmed by a camera woman after he got of stage in the half finals against the rules and his will. He asked her several times to stop filming which she didn't. Joost made a move towards her camera without touching her. Of that incident has been made a complaint which got him disqualifite. :-S

We’ll know soon enough what happened, when the footage is released. Something tells me however that, if it benefited the camerawoman and/or the EBU, the footage would already have been leaked all over the internet. Best way to move the spotlight away from themselves and towards Joost and the alleged ‘crimes.’

basicly what happend is. Backstage after hes performance (where it is not allowed to fim) a woman from the production was filming anyways, he kept asking to stop filming but she didn’t comply. EBU made a big mistake by disqualifying the Netherlands. Big. HUGE. Joost didn't do anything wrong, it is quite the opposite; The camera woman was harassing Joost. Joost did NOT touch her. The camera woman kept filming him, even while this is in breech of EBU's contract with the artist not to film backstage. Joost asked her twice to stop filming and she kept filming him, so he made a gesture to the camera not even to the camera woman! EBU disqualifying Joost is like victim blaming and so not right. I hope justice will be served and there will be pressed charges against the EBU and their camera woman. Joost, you are in our hearts and everyone knows you were the public's choice. No one can take that away from you, Joost! Eurovision should apologize to Joost and also publicly for what they have so unrightfully done to Joost. Disqualifying him is not right, just not right...

I miss the old days of Eurovision, before it was hijacked by gays. The songs were actual songs which could be whistled. Each contestant brought his own conductor for the orchestra, and the songwriters were all introduced. Most contestants were already established performers, at least in their own countries. There were no flashing lights and no acrobatics, just a proper song contest which everyone could enjoy. So many great songs were created, many of which are still remembered today, even those which didn't win. Whatever wins tonight, I'm sure nobody will be whistling it next week, let alone in 50 years' time. So sad.

Not that I particularly liked the act, in fact I disliked it. In fact, I disliked _all_ of this year's acts. They were all absolutely dreadful. But, still, having said that... this still was a very, very outrageous course of action to take by the EBU. Because there were nothing more than mere allegations. It reminds one of the actions of Disney, after Amber Heard made, by now known to be false allegations against her then husband, Johnny Depp. They immediately dismissed him. No due process, no waiting for any sort of investigation or trial. No, just, boom, gone. And, what did we learn from that whole incident, people? People lie. She lied. About everything. The Depp v. Heard case should've reminded anyone and everyone that it is absolutely critical to hold on to the most fundamental and important principle in any justice system of any democracy -- _Innocent until _*_proven_*_ guilty._ But, the EBU just treated the Dutch contestant as if he already had been convicted. I find this trend deeply, deeply disturbing. Moreover because of the exact circumstances. He had made it known he was not to be filmed following his performances. Yet, this camera woman ignored that request. And then proceeded to ignore several requests by the contestant to stop filming. In response to that, he made a gesture at the camera. And he is being punished for that. What message does this send, people? Do I need to spell it out? As a male, you are no longer allowed to stop a female from engaging in acts you do not wish them to engage in. Because, well, he did not even touch her. And yet he is still punished for it. It has gotten _that_ bad. People, start opening your eyes. We've gone too far. Society has lost the plot. Take action, today. Otherwise... this trend, if continued, will end very, very poorly.
