This is an interesting study, but difficult to understand. Why did God strike Ananias and Sapphira dead for lying, but not others. Peter lied when he denied Christ 3 times, but he wasn't struck dead. I'm glad God doesn't strike us dead today like He did in past times, but I wonder why He chose to do so then, but not now. I'm not questioning God, just wondering why.

"“For I am יהוה, I shall not change" (Malachi 3:6) and a "new testament" verse: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor shadow of turning." (James 1:17)

Way to go SCOTT INGRAM, that commentary on Ananias and Sapphira and what they did and the REAL INTENT of what their hearts were thinking is what CHRISTIANS need to hear. I have NEVER heard this interpretation of this story this way. That'll preach!!! I'm going to use that story in my next sermon.

Matthew 25:31-32 The Sheep and the Goats “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

…its not so much the God of OT Vs. NT… Its about the dispensation of the Law and dispensation of Grace… That is the difference…

Dear brothers, I love the show. I just recently found you on YT. I like to read along when you quote scripture. I have a couple of English language translations but they are not the ones you use. Can you let me know what translation you are using? Greetings from Eastern Europe. God Bless.

Dani, I know that I am not part of the podcast, but have a bachelor degree in bible from a brotherhood preaching school. I find that the NASV/B were translated the closest to the Greek text. Just my opinion. Be careful of the New World Translation (The Mormons) and oversimplified versions (the Message). Even the NIV has omitted verses, changed capitol letters and other errors. If you can learn to read Greek, a literal New Testament in Greek is helpful. One book that really helps us read scripture is a Vine's Dictionary of New Testament words. God bless you as you study. Hosea 4:6, CJ

One of the greatest show of love toward mankind was when He put Adam & Eve out of the garden & bared them from reentering. Had they eaten continued to eat from the tree of life they would have lived forever separated from God by their disobedience & we as their offspring would be living the same way.

Notice Acts 5:1 “But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife…” Through Luke the Holy Spirit never identified them as Christians. They went through the motions of following The Way, but their duplicitous behavior described here was in reality part-and-parcel of their overall spiritual character. There was no repentance at the beginning, no discipleship throughout their association with the believers, hence no salvation.

One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who's above all, through all and in you all. It's the One God of the Old Testament is the same God of the New Testament and His name is Jesus.

The New Testament is written about the God of the Old Testament. The only book that tells of God & what He’s like is in Revelation. There we see a God of extraordinary love & patients but also of harsh judgment & punishment. All are the same God of justice. ❤️✝️❤️
