Montse was my dear friend.She was great at anything.Always worrying about everyone,trying to please anyone she could.Never a frown,never a tired face.With all the work she had if a friend was ill or had problems she was always there with a call or a letter. Meeting Freddy was wonderful for her .He thought she was the most perfect singer and the most beautiful human being in the world.For him it was such a joy to be allowed to be on stage with her and to have her singing his songs that he managed to live six years longer.Montse was the very last diva and for many of us the very best.Please never forget her.Noone will ever achieve her voice her personally and her wisdom.Just like what Norma intended to do ,spilling her magic on Earth and in Heaven.

When she sings, she becomes the song and takes the audience with her into the world of the character and the story. What a beautiful, divine voice. Viva, La Superba forever!

She was funny, she likes to eat, and smile, had an incredible family, and lived a long life. Thanks to her, we discovered operas that were almost lost, she was a good musician, and last but not least...she was without any doubt, with Callas, one of the greatest soprano's of all times, at least, that we can hear thanks to recordings era, so 20th century. There were great ones, Tebaldi, Sutherland, Price, and so on. But only Callas and her make a real contribution to Opera, by rediscovering lost operas as they did. You might like it, you might not, but she was, one, or two, or maybe three of a kind. Great Caballé you might be having spaghetti with Callas, Tebaldi, and many others, where ever you are, laughing at what opera is today.

I could listen to her for hours on end without tiring. She not only has a wonderful singing voice, but a great sense of humour and an infectious laugh. Lovely documentary, extraordinary soprano La Superba. As La Stupenda Sutherland rightly observes, her piannisimi was exquisite. Excellent photos and performance excerpts. Like her fellow Spaniards, Maestros Domingo and Carreras, la Maestra was a natural polyglot. This is the most of her speaking English I've come across. Easily, her singing Norma and Anna Bolena are my favorites. Mil gracias. _(I only mention the following because the trolls might harp on it and proceed to act like we're all blind idiots who can't face reality, but at about __42:14__ while she's performing on stage, when her hand lands on her open collar, you do hear the sound of a mic being struck. Sometimes, on rare occasion, singers would use a mic for part of an opera performance due to extenuating circumstances, such as illness. They never liked doing so, but rather than disappoint a house full of paying customers, if they otherwise were up to the task, they'd acquiesce. This, of course, would be of no help on a substandard singer, who wouldn't be allowed on stage to begin with. Far too many of us, esp the immature, forget that even the rightfully legendary are humans first.)_ Paz y salud.

I'm literally fascinated by this wonderful Lady of the music, Her velvet voice and her'" pianissimo'" are terrfic, I recognize the greatness ot Maria Callas and she remains as a brilliant star in the opera musica.But I wonder why she remains as the unique artist one must refer to.For example the voice of Monserrat,in my opinion is more like the sweetness and the '"filati"Tebaldi's voice, than Callas' whose voice was a little harsh..Even Toscanini thought so, but, I'm sure he would have loved Mrs Monserrat Caballeè. I'am going to listen to her how much I can.

She was brilliant, and when she sang in front of a rock audience with Freddie (brave), and he wrote music for her (also brave) with her participating in its creation (can't do that with VerdI!), the outcome was stunning. They loved each other. You can't talk about her life and career without including her work with Freddie.

Alfonsoantonromero es curioso que los fans de todo el mundo simplemente hablen de la genialidad de Montserrat y el primer comentario que encuentro de un español es para decir estupideces. Es lógico que en las Olimpiadas de Barcelona participasen cantantes y artistas catalanes,Caballe, Carreras, Victoria de los Angeles pero también participaron el gran tenor canario Kraus y la inmensa mezzosoprano madrileña Teresa Berganza. En aquella época en la que el PP todavía no había llegado al gobierno la mayoría de catalanes no éramos independentistas, pero el menosprecio del PP muy parecido al que sufrimos durante el franquismo, consiguieron que aumentase el número de independentistas.
