Great job on the cage. My only suggestion is get the chop saw off the floor to a working height. One of the best things I ever did for my shop!

I bent my main hoop up on saturday. I am so glad you are filming the whole process. Its great to see the process and how others do it before jumping in.

Dirty Garage Really good. I got it all within a 1/4 of a degree from horizontal/vertical and at each bend. Fitment is real tight to the roof and sides. Like less than a few mm clearance in each way. I might actually shorten the legs another 5mm just so it makes getting the front lateral bars in a bit easier.

Sweet, it's pretty satisfying when a bar comes out fitting so well, I also ended up shortening my main hoops legs some for better fitment once the other bars started to go in.

Dirty Garage I havent had much luck doing the front loops that come from the main hoop down to the side of windscreen and down. I have had 3 attempts at it already, and basically wasted like 6m of tube. And im still not happy with it. It starts off really tight to the A pillar, but at the lower edge near the dash, it diverges off way too much. Because i had the bend too low. And this interferes with the field of vision somewhat. I now dont have enough 1.75" tube to complete the bars. (Im using 1.75 for main hoop and front loops, and 1.5" for all other bar work.) I did also make the X brace inside the main hoop, and I am quite pleased with how it turned out. I positioned the X join at the perfect hight for the harness bars to intersect it. So its like a 6 sided X at the moment with all joins converging at exactly the right place. So thats one positive.

Thanks for the video, very helpful. Where in NC are you located? Also, how difficult was to remove the roof? I don't remember seeing a video about it, it will be VERY helpful - thanks!!

I did do a video on the removal, I can’t remember what the title was though. It was fairly straightforward, just a lot of drilling out spot welds. I think there was around 75 spot welds holding it on.

Are you concerned that the doors might not fit very well once the car is complete, with engine installed? My thought is that car flexed with most of the weight removed, then you welded in the cage, locking in that flex and making the doors misalign.

I talked about that some in my video when I seam welded the chassis.When I seam welded the car it had every body panel, doors, glass in it still and it sat on it's wheels to minimize flex. After doing that it greatly reduced the amount of flex the car could have as before when it would sit on it's pinch welds the doors would sag and not close well. After the seam welding I tried that same test and the doors shut perfectly as if it was still on it's wheels. The car is still on it's wheels to try and minimize any flex in the chassis when the cage went in, but there's only so much you can truly do without being able to use a chassis jig. Now if I had welded it all when the car was sitting on jackstands and not level then yes I think all the flex in the chassis would be permanently stuck in the car, but I won't know if I put twists into it until I get the doors on I suppose.

how much money did you spent on the material and how many tubing did you get

I got seven sections of 24’ of the tubing I needed. Plus a sheet of 1/8th plate and 18ga for gussets and rocker boxes. I haven’t added it up yet but once I’m done I want to add it all up for a video and go over everything I used and needed and didn’t need.
