Good job. I would never have thought a roll bar was so difficult. Now I see how difficult it is to calculate all the bends.

Wow. Those came out lookin mint. Great work. I bet at this point, your wishing you built the brackets and such for the steering column and brake pedal BEFORE the door bars. Haha

Enjoyed watching your rally car build! My wife and I are looking to do the same type of project. I wanted to ask where did you get your dimple die set from?
@DirtyGarage4 жыл бұрын
I got mine from eBay, but after using them for some time I would definitely recommend swag offroad’s set. It’ll punch the hole and then dimple it, which will end up much cleaner than using a hole saw first.

Is there a reason you went with straight door bars instead of nascar style/extended into the doors themselves?
@DirtyGarage5 жыл бұрын
NASCAR style door bars aren’t an approved design by the FIA, it’s still possible to pass scrutineering with them but it would be on the scrutineer if he approves it. If you plan on using them I would work with whoever will issue the logbook for the car and see what they have to say.

What brand dimple dies did you use? Would you recommend them? I'm doing a very similar build and your series is a big help in planning. Thanks!
@DirtyGarage5 жыл бұрын
I got a set from SWAG offroad, they work well, the most important part is getting a clean hole cut into the steel before dimpling it.

@@DirtyGarage Thanks! That is what I was looking at too. It is funny that you and I have a lot of the same tools...and the same car...
