hola amigo me gustaria me orientes, tengo dudas sobre el kit , compre el kit a un tercero, pero se rompio el bombillo de la lampara y me gustaria reemplezarla con lamparas ultra violeta , ¿me serviria para el curado.? ¿o tiene que ser la original? Espero tu respuesta Gracias!!

Do you really need that uv lamp or can you just you a head dryer as well

We don't recommend a hair dryer because there's no uv lamp which could cause inconsistencies.

Seems to hold up well on other plastics when test trial detailing, glad i figured out the proprietary formula UV wavelength 🤫😉....bought a adjustable reflecting photo light stand & 2 specialty 36w flurecent bulb, so i don't have a need for the premium gclear re-branded lamp, which seems impossible to locate anywhere on internet from the maker. You guys are thorough, i like your process.

what if you still have scratches from your first start of sanding?

After using the first grit, the headlight may still look a little rough. The second grit will smooth it out more. is there any method to thinning the coat? like adding a little mineral spirits or alcohol then mix it? mine keeps coming out with streaks and seems to need thinning out?

We don't recommend diluting the coating. It sounds like maybe you need to add more Gclear on your pad. You can also contact [e-mail] and our techs will be happy to help.

I get a mess on the bottle often, so disposable pipettes work to apply to applicator. But do you recommend a few days or week to apply a wax topping?

Coating can be cured in the sun, however it does not guarantee a perfect cure and takes more time. We recommend using a curing light to assure a flawless repair and save time with each repair.

I noticed that you applied the clearcoat to a slightly rough surface. What I want to know is this. does the final finish have a mirror or orange peel look?

How come no matter what i do with this, it always leaves streaks. No matter if i use less or more product, careful passes etc. I use the pads you guys have, in the shade, keep the product away from any heat to not cause any premature curing. But no matter what. It streaks, is it just suppose to be like that?

Why couldn't you polish the light after the sanding and before the coating?

You most definitely can and you may get even more sheen from the lens. However, overpolishing can dimish the adhesion of the UV hard coat. It tends to adhere better to a slightly rough surface.

You can, but it is not necessary. Also, the adhesion of the coating is better when applied to a non-polished surface.

Good question, Meguiars clearcoat with added UV protection!! You always polish to Hydrate and seal the lens before applying clearcoat!!!!

I recently purchased your kit with UV light and saw there is no clear lens cover to protect the bulbs. Customer service said they have never included covers but there is a slot in the light assembly. This would be risky if you're a mobile service where you would constantly be transporting/setting up the light and possibly bump the bulbs. Can you explain why that is?

Hi David, Curing lights are stronger and more efficient without a plastic cover on them. The plastic covering can also alter and weaken the frequency of the light, causing repairs to come out less than perfect. No current GlasWeld curing lights have plastic coverings.
