My biggest quirk about the Prevail 2 is the straps were closer to the outer circumference of the helmet, it looks great having them closer to the inner circumference on this Prevail 3 (similar to the Evade 2.) It looks good!

I tried this on yesterday. It’s a nice helmet, super light. Looks are subjective so I’ll just say what I noticed different. The helmet seems to ride higher than the 2. There is a larger gap between my ears and the helmet. The air gaps along the top are much wider. I wear a large size and this helmet felt a tad smaller than my 2. I adjusted the internal webbing out to maximum. It fits fine but the 2 can get much wider and lower on the back of your head. Some of us really appreciate that. I’m sure many will love it but it’s a totally different animal compared to the 2. Cheers.

I tried on a large Prevail 3 and it's too narrow. My head is huge unfortunately but the large Prevail 2 Vent works for me. Interestingly, the Evade 3 in large fit me well whereas the Evade 2 was a bit too narrow.

Ordered a new one from Eriks to replace my Prevail II. Eriks shipping mixed up packaged and sent my helmet to California. Been waiting for the helmet to come out and now still waiting....Hope I like it, if I ever get it...The prevail I been riding since 2018.

Went to my LBS today to try it on and it feels slightly heavier than my prevail 2 vent. Also made me look like Toad from Mario. The forehead gap is kinda big too. Wish they would’ve kept a similar design and added the back vents of the 3 to it but oh well

Do you know if its easy to slide in the sunglasses in those vents? I also have a KASK helmet and I don't like the strap that came with it.

Haha they do look nice. But, they can be nicer if they kept the sides. Possibly lighter too. Truth is, I am not shelling out 300 USD for a 300g helmet when I have a few Lazer Z1 that weighs in 190g in Size Medium 😊

I agree man. The industry keeps pumping out heavy weight thinking we will pay for it. Truth be told, a lot of us will who are just getting into the sport or needing to “upgrade” or update equipment. But right now like you and I, we have light weight kit that works. I’m not going to rush out and buy a new helmet or new kit that is heavier than the last generation AND cost more. 🤨

And your Lazer Z1 ranks 50th compared to the Prevails 2nd place when tested by Virginia Tech. There are more important thing than saving 100g. Cyclists have somehow made helmets more about fashion then safety.

@@LifeCycle1978 ranked 50 over hundred probably thousands of helmets out there. They only tested 161 helmets using the STAR Evaluation System. Do the math it’s still a top stuff. 😁 A ranked #50 helmet is still wayyyyyy better than no helmet at all anyway. And it did score 5 stars. So, there’s that. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

you should review the new giro eclipse mips. 270gm for a medium on my scale and giro claim most aero road helmet. the ventilation is amazing for a road aero helmet. and bonus a lot cheaper then the s brand

The separate strap that goes around your ear is too long for me. It meets the chin strap too far below my ear and the strap section in front of my ear therefore sits too far toward the front of my face. The length of this strap cannot be adjusted. I have never had a strap issue like this before with a helmet.

The design at first I liked, the more I looked at it the less I liked it due to the less aggressive look but seeing it on someone makes it seem better imo. I still might go out and get a vent 2 due to lighter weight and the less bulbous side profile. The whole reason why I went from poc to specialized is because I didn’t want a mushroom head

Glad I picked up a Prevail II Vent, certainly looks better than this, this had the potential to be a really cool looking helmet but the bulkiness on the sides and the price increase I think kills it…

I had just ordered the Evade II helmet from Europe to Singapore, and literally while it was in the air, the new helmets came out. Now normally I would get very irritated by stuff like this, but I think the new helmets are so ugly that I can't be irritated. Maybe it will grow on me over time when I have seen it enough, but then again the Shiv never did, until that last version hahah.

Yo I can relate! My evade 2 just came 4 days before the release of the new version. Felt irritated but when I saw the design never mind lol. The design is just ugly and they even remove the magnetic strap people were loving. I’ll see if it will grow on me the more I see it but for now happy with my Evade 2( and my prevail 2 vent)

In my opinion they look horrible. If someone told me they were 20 dollar ali expres helmets, I would've believed it. I wouldn't even wear them if I got them for free. And good luck with all the insects flying into your helmet! There's way to much open vents. I've never even felt a big difference between many and less vents in helmets. Rather have more aero and less insects than slightly more cooling.

They are all Junk. IF you wantlightweight, get POC Ventral LITE (207g in L) if you want AERO, get Lazer, Rudy or Gamechange. If you wany overall quality all rounder get a Kask.

Kask ruined the Protone with their bullshit Icon with it's pos adjustment dial. I tried on 3 at the bike shop and all three fell apart in my hand. The shop said there's an easy diy fix but I bought a prevail 3 instead
