May I please know the independent, dependent and control variable for the titration reactions, thanks a lot.
@Freesciencelessons3 жыл бұрын
With a titration reaction, you don't really have an independent and dependent variable as such. You are trying to determine the concentration of an acid or alkali so that would be the dependent variable (in a sense). Control variables could be the number of drops of indicator, the known concentration of acid (or alkali), the starting volume of unknown acid or alkali and ideally the temperature of the room.

Sir when we look at the miniscus at eye level if we do not do this is it called parralex error?
@georgerommel8952 жыл бұрын
Does this make soluble or insoluble salt
@Freesciencelessons2 жыл бұрын
Generally a titration produces a soluble salt. An insoluble salt would produce a precipitate which would interfere with the colour of the indicator. However, there are titrations that do produce an insoluble salt but they're more for A level.

@greenlighted9226 жыл бұрын
I've asked that question to my teacher as well and she said that for GCSEs, you never use universal indicator.
@Freesciencelessons6 жыл бұрын
No you'd normally use an indicator with one clear colour change such as methyl orange or phenolphthalein. Universal indicator produces a range of colour changes so it's less clear-cut.
@geniusgamer98774 жыл бұрын
Could you tell us the dependent, independent and control variables for this experiment?
@n0brainjustvibes4 жыл бұрын
Control variables would be things like the initial concentration and volume of sodium hydroxide, temperature of the room, amount of indicator added, etc.. Everything that should stay the same when you repeat the test. I'd say that dependent variable would be the colour change, independent would be the amount of acid added? I could be wrong on that though.
@choppa14952 жыл бұрын
@@n0brainjustvibes I'm pretty sure it's the amount of acid is what u measure(dependant) and I think the acid or alkaline is the independent variable
