In the army we used a anchor set consisting of a plate with six holes either side and one meter pins were driven in at 45 degrees you could ad more plates and in different patterns depending on the ground and winch from them
@GDBRescueandrecovery3 жыл бұрын
Yes that's right I have seen them before, we have similar stuff for light recovery and ground anchors, heavy is a subby we use locally, there work load is mainly bus and coaches but they help us out on some jobs round here, so not geared up for 24.7 off road recovery etc like some others may be! thanks for the watch

Loved that different aspect of recovery that you can't normally cover, looking forward to seeing more of fraud winter jobs for the jeep and some transit tilt and slides!

Wahey glad you enjoyed, yes not my everyday job but I do sub at least a few a month out in different areas! BUT this one was local so thought would create a video for you all, winter is going to be FUN for us, not for the customer obviously!

Great job Greg,well done. That's the trouble with an 8 wheeler,one those front axles sink,your buggered! Well thought out on the winching side,a Holmes tree,or stump in this case always comes in handy. Satch blocks certainly saved the day too. That DAF wrecker had a tidy wheelbase on her,not the best for confined spaces,respect to Kev! Stay safe,here's to the next one.
@GDBRescueandrecovery3 жыл бұрын
Yeah doesn't take much, absolute zero weight on the drive axles aswell, if he was loaded I think he could of got him self out! , I wasn't very confident on that stump with how low it was cut, but once I cut a groove in the stump and used a chain no bother at all! , Took ages packing the winch lines back in / carrying the kit! , Yeah that dafs got good equipment on it long reach underlift for coaches and buses that's there main bread and butter! , Thanks for the comment! Catch you on the next one!

Very interesting wish I found you sooner. I surpose in the ideal would a couple of air bag jacks would be useful in situations like this to just lift the vehicle put sleepers or some kinda planks under the driving wheels drive out under its own power unless I'm missing something.im now subbed and be watching every uploads 👍

This is a question not related to this video in one of your previous videos you used magnetic lights on the back of a car when you spec lifted it where did you buy these from as I’m fed up of using my light board any help would be great also keep up the great videos !
@GDBRescueandrecovery3 жыл бұрын
That is correct! go on eBay type in magnetic trailer lights! Think our brand is called Connix or something normally get about 12 months out of them before they loose sync or cables come tired from charging blah blah, I get a new set ever year ish.

good video dont see much of this in the uk. but if only the driver of the 8 wheeler had put his diff locks on,
@GDBRescueandrecovery3 жыл бұрын
Very true mainly USA have good HGV KZbin content, this country is very picky fussy and people judge a 10000x more, so not many of the big boys show content TBH, but I like to show we live in a real world, and things are not always straight out as they seem and there is danger in jobs to, I would like others to make content for KZbin in the uk in this industry I think its a good watch! and his diff lock was not working to begin with reckons it had a fault.... unsure can't comment any further!

Great recovery in difficult circumstances. Reminded me of Ron Pratt in the US where they used trees to right a semi trailer. Do you ever think you will go bigger?
@GDBRescueandrecovery3 жыл бұрын
Ahh yeah ive seen a few of their videos before ! You often have to use trees for a good majority of heavy jobs off road TBH ! , No won't get any bigger here, been there done that had the t shirt! Previous video I uploaded before this one shows that story!
@aaronburgh12073 жыл бұрын
@@GDBRescueandrecovery Thanks. Watched that now. You definitely had the T-Shirt and some!
@timmy55213 жыл бұрын
That was a job and half there. I’ve seen you can get screw in pilings you put in with a handheld petrol auger kind of machine. Do you think it’s something you could use to winch off ? I’ve used turfer winch’s before with ground anchors in the army.
@GDBRescueandrecovery3 жыл бұрын
Yes that true pins that go into ground and ground anchors and so forth we have equipment for light recovery as that's what we do and specialise in, but hgv we don't own nor specialise in house, so we don't have the equipment for that! IF we did own a hgv we would obviously have that bit extra equipment for diff scenarios! and the subby does not specialise in accident recovery they mainly do bus / coaches etc!

Can you tone down the intro music to match the audio? The intro music blasts my ears out, but they I can't hear you talking without turning up the volume, , your editing software should have some audio normalization options. Keep up the good work too!
