+eduar ed when mj leaved there was the blockout in 98/99, no wonder the league wasn't exciting (plus barkley, olajuwon..getting older or leaving too), but there was still a bunch of great players with shaq, kobe, iverson, duncan, garnett, carter... And if Lebron leaves, well there is still durant, westbrook, a.davis, curry... There will always be great players, no matter the era

@anfer.sneeze9 жыл бұрын
+eduar ed woww you really gonna compare him to MJ? MJ was the most famous athlete ever, no one, not even your boy LeBron can create as big as an impact if they left their sport like MJ did. And do you even watch the NBA? The league didnt change last year because Kobe wasnt retiring yet. Now hes having one of the biggest farewell seasons ever, hes doubling and tripling ticket prices for Laker tickets, hes selling out every stadium, and even before his retirement announcement he was always on the front page of every sports media whether he and the Lakers were good or not, on NBA.com theres never a time where i didnt see Kobe on the top 3 most talked about players. Kobes legacy is too big to not have an impact, youre dumb if you believe the league will feel the same with him gone.

just love his game. such a student of the game. he's got a piece of all the nba legends. -hangs in the air and makes tough shots just like elgin baylor. -keeps the dribble alive & protects the ball like oscar robertson -psychological dominance of mj. also has the fade away. -some of bird's late quarter intangibles as well as his intelligence -doesn't quite have magic johnson's passing ability, but still has some sweetness in his game -even learned from the dream.

stch2416 We know Kobe is past his prime. We don't deny that. We don't know exactly how much Kobe has left either thoe. Lebron gots nothing on Kobe when it comes to the clutch situations, When the matter counts & seizing the moment. the difficulty of shots kobe makes or the killer instinct and how he embraces and conquers the moment with the ultimate confidence is surreal. Lebron is good, Freak of nature athleticism and uses his speed and big body to get to the rim 70% of the time. Playing with a couple HOF's in Dwayne Wade & Ray allen and a surrounding core of good players helps him look better also.

I fell in love in high school with basketball but the first one I really followed was Kareem (Dr J was up there too_ and next it was Magic and then the top of all MJ. Kobe was a kid getting into the NBA but asked MJ in a game for some pointers and their relationship was awesome. There are so many other players who were soooo good- watch the 92 Dream Team doc. I could go on and on about other players that were soooo good (Allen Iverson , Oakley, etc) But Kobe was way up there when looking at the best of the best- but not ahead of MJ.

biesjo the first 3 titles he was 2nd fiddle to the most dominant player probably ever! he did NOTHING in the first title run! 02-03 there were THREE teams in the West with better records than the Lakers you think Kobe deserves MVP that year over Duncan? Led the Spurs to the best record All NBA First Team Defense All NBA First Team Just because Kobe played huge minutes average 30-6-6 DOES NOT MEAN he should win MVP MVP is for the most VALUABLE PLAYER NOT player with nice stats it is for the player who CONTRIBUTED THE MOST TO TEAM SUCCESS 05-06 The Suns finished as the SECOND SEED Lakers the SEVENTH seed. I'm not that excited about the Nash getting it but you don't give MVPs to gaudy stats , there has to be team success behind it The Lakers won 45 games! If you give the MVP to Kobe that might be the lowest win total EVER for an MVP on a team. Duncan, Dirk, Kidd, Wade, Nash, Billups ALL have more right than Kobe to that MVP TEAM SUCCESS is more important than individual numbers almost all MVPs should have their numbers dropped when teams win and their numbers go up when they are losing Should Jordan have gotten MVP in 87? how about 1989 and 1990? His stats are much better than Magic's fact is YOU HAVE TO WIN and in 2008 Paul took a less talented team , had a better year than ANY of the Nash years and won only ONE LESS game than the Lakers so NO, Kobe DOES NOT DESERVE ANY MVPs

Give me Kobe's prime days over Lebron's any day of the week. Respect to both legends, but Kobe had way more skill. Lebron depends way more on athleticism, speed, and his unnatural size that correlates with that. Kobe had wayyy more skill as far as footwork, shot, moves. And his killer instinct was ridiculous as well. Lebron is no doubt the greatest today, but Kobe's prime days were better.
@DJ0001234569 жыл бұрын
Dom2K like you said, lebron is better at athleticism, and if you are smart, when choosing between skills and athleticism,u know you should always pick the one with more athletic, like in 2K, 99 Athleticism 80 skills, or 99skills 80Athleticism, and the scary thing is that lebron skills also aint bad at all. he is right there with the great
@Dom2K9 жыл бұрын
That's not even close to true. Larry Bird is one of the best players in history - was not athletic at all and is still better than a bunch of players who are athletes today. The Spurs are the antichrist when it comes to athleticism, and they`ve been winning for 3 decades. There are plenty of athletic trash players in the league today. That's an illusion that you need athleticism to be great because it looks cool.

Kobe is the last of a dying breed. The kind that will tough it out and keep on trying. Will carry his team if the other guys aren't doing well. Won't flop and will keep on persevering. We have seen flashes from lebron ex. Finals game 5 first quarter but ultimately just gave up and the spurs won. Also when he was in Cleveland, lebron opted out because he couldn't carry the team to a championship. I don't blame him I respect him, but he won't be a fighter that fights to the last breath ever like Kobe

Kobe did not come up clutch a lot in his career, he has a handful of game winners, he got bailed out by derick fisher alot i will give him his props he is a great scorer, but he also has the most misses of all time and he isn't really a good person, he would have won way more championships if he wasn't so abrasive, none of his teammates have ever really like him, and he demanded the ball too much and shot way too much, Kobe could have surpassed michael but he held himself back with his attitude

You see, what haters don't realize is this: MJ had a superstar, hall-of-famer in Scottie Pippen for ALL 6 CHAMPIONSHIPS, later with the last 3 w/ Dennis Rodman also (another superstar HoF). LeBron (exclusively about Miami) had Dwyane Wade, & Chris Bosh (2 superstars). Just like LeBron only had an all-star in Kyrie Irving (who is definitely bound to be a superstar) w/ Cleveland, *** Kobe only had Gasol in '09 & '10 as an all-star teammate!*** After averaging nearly 30 ppg as the sidekick to Shaq in '00 - '02.

Ballin Too terrible argument. I'm not even talking about the 08' season so I don't think that's valid. And take Bynum out the picture and there not as good as they were simple as that. Overrated or not Bynum was a key player.

I love Kobe just as much as mj but for u Kobe haters how can a guy get drafted straight out of high school wasn't even a lottery pick win 5 out of 7 NBA finals place 4 th on the all time scoring list I mean come on man jeez they don't make these kinds of players no more I'm sure if u hate kb8 then I know u would hate a.I. also damn shame this generation doesn't appreciate greatness and these are the same folks who robbed him from having MVP s in 02-03 and 05-06 damn

give me kobe finals preformance better than lebron vs spurs twice , okc or gsw twice , the only one you can say is close is this one and it was aginst orlando.
@tom98958 жыл бұрын
look at lebron stats he's better in any area exepct free throws, look at how he changed the teams he was on and how was his preformance in the finals and playoffs in general , plus 4 mvp's and 3 fmvp to 2 and 1 , and hes a better way more connsistnet defender than kobe, cant argue aginst it, kobe still all time great and a top 10 player but not more

How nostalgic it is seeing this. Seeing coaches dressed in fresh suits, full crowds. A night in the Staples center watching an ultra legendary historic all time great player in Kobe Bryant. What a time it was and that 3rd quarter in game 1 was and is inspiring

Just wanted to say you're doing a GREAT JOB. Simple intros, mostly just TV footage, unobtrusive annotations. Keep up the fantastic work!

Kobe wanted that nobody was taking this title from him where's the you cant do it without shaq quotes!
@xzinx10 жыл бұрын
west jack not like shaq can do it by him self... both needed teammates to win, bryant needed gason and bynum maybe just gasol.. shaq had wade
@reedu129810 жыл бұрын
xzinx gasoline and Bynum are no where compared to Shaq kobe made gasol and bynum look good
@xzinx10 жыл бұрын
well then shaq made kobe look good, shaq was the go to guy in their 3 rings
@reedu129810 жыл бұрын
Yes cause Kobe was 23? Keep in mind that LeBron is in his prime at 29. If you let Kobe more develop they could of had so many titles
@YungJack91310 жыл бұрын
I think kobe could have won Atleast 2 finals MVP's when he had shaq kobe was averaging 30 something points but nobody could stop shaq

Haters will say "Kobe NEVER passes." Only player in history to have over 30,000 Points and 6000 Assists. This finals in particular, averaging 7.4 APG, while scoring 32.4 PPG, your argument is invalid. Kobe Fan for LIfe.
@MinecraftTheGod9 жыл бұрын
Ira Slingsby LeBrons already got more assists and hes 6 years younger.
@Ira_Slingsby9 жыл бұрын
Adrian Grant Dude, did my comment at all hint at a comparison with Lebron? No. I was saying "Haters". But since you brought that up, Lebron is good, Kobe is Great, and MJ is the Greatest.
@MinecraftTheGod9 жыл бұрын
Ira Slingsby How will we know if Kobe passes if we don't compare him to someone else? It's like saying Roy Hibbert is the greatest scorer without saying who's better.

Imagine if Lakers would of met the Cavs instead of Magic’s how focused Kobe n the Lakers was this year my money on LA n there would be no Kobe Leviton Debate cuz Kobe would of dominated them like he doing Magic toughest defensive I seen on Kobe still didn’t matter that year
