Jess I would love to take this class and if I were 20 years younger I definitely would. I know that I couldn't keep up with you youngsters though. I can still do the stuff but it just takes me longer. Not a problem though because I'm not in any hurry. Reminds me of an old saying in the construction industry, "when you're young they pay you for how fast you can go but when you're older they pay you for what you know." Keep churning out those videos because in my opinion, you're one of the best.

It was an excellent experience and definitely learned a lot from the course. The best part besides the material/skills covered, was how far they pushed us mentally and physically. It showed everyone there that they had a lot more to give than they thought. Hope you get the chance to check it out someday. They released a DVD certificate program years ago that is really good. Has a work book with a lesson plan and you email all your work to them. Has a lot of good info and practical experience built in.

Great you had fun out there and learned new skills under difficult circumstances. My advanced course has similarities but also differences. Biggest difference is that I take them out of their climate comfort zone so if your comfort climate zone is the boreal forest I take you to the jungle and vise versa. It's easy to know what's around you and you can practice all skills in your backyard using the same materials during the course, but what if you are stranded in an unfamiliar surrounding with all different vegetation?

Congrats! I’d die - probably literally. I’m too old for a course like that, but I find it interesting. My goal is to just get through a primitive camp experience without supplied potable water from the back of a bicycle. 😂

@@recon0x7f16 No. Two days after, the instructors had a slice of pizza left over from their dinner (they made a point to eat well in front of us lol). So they have a slice of pizza, its morning and it rained half the night. All of a sudden they said whoever lights a fire with flint and steel first gets the slice. My tinder was wet and I had never used flint and steel, but I lucked out and got an ember going in some charred punk wood and then got my wet tulip poplar birds nest to light. Long story short, I won the slice, which I split with my training partner. That was it for 5 days. Half a small garter snake and half a slice of pizza. It was awesome. Bob Evans after.
