This video is helpful; I used it to replace the broken glass on my GE oven. Two slight differences in my case. There was an extra pane of glass covering the double-pane assembly, not shown in this video. It was easy enough to remove. Also, the replacement double-pane assembly (official GE) has the word OVEN with triangles that point in such a way to illustrate which pane goes on the inside and which goes to the inner door. Apparently the two panes are not interchangeable. I didn't notice this until after the job was done. Mine is facing properly, but because of pure luck.

This video is exactly what I was looking for, right down to the exact screws! We had an ice cube drop on the glass while attempting to make bread using the steam method, which cracked the glass. Question: Our GE induction range inner door glass frame has a marking stamped on it, "^OVEN^". Can I assume this is so that the glass can be placed in the proper direction? The one I took out had this marking at what would be the lower edge of the door, but the arrows pointed toward the outer door. I installed the new one the same way. Is this correct, or was it installed wrong at the factory?

It's hard to say without seeing it unfortunately. Unless they are the pieces that go on the end of the screws that mount the handle. Other than that there isn't any clip type of objects in the style I show in the video. Thanks for watching Jesse & subscribe to the channel 👍

Hello, this video is so helpful. I have a GE and they no longer make the inner oven glass replacement prt. I am ordering a custom ceramic piece of glass instead. Your video is great, but doesn't show how you slid the new glass pane into the metal framing. Does it pop in easily?

You will have to search the model number of your stove and find the glass listed for it. You can order directly from GE or any local appliance parts place in your area. Excellent video what I needed. Only difference is my GE Spectra oven has rope insulation around the inner glass. Is that included with the new part? If not, how do you secure it?

Appreciate that Russ. You would have to search your stoves model # and see if they sell the rope insulation separate or if it comes with the inner glass. If you can't tell from pictures online I would recommend calling GE Appliance Parts and asking a representative to verify that information for you as I don't know if it does or not. Can you tell me how to replace the front glass on this same oven? My front glass fell off and it's not broken but it won't stay on either.

You would have to remove the oven door like I showed in the video then lay it face down & loosen the two torx bit screws at the top of the oven door that hold the oven handle on but don't take them out all the way, just loosen them until you can remove the handle. Then once the handle & the piece behind the handle come off you will see where the clips are that hold the glass in place. Move the glass so its under the top clips & make sure the bottom of the glass is in the channel it sits in at the bottom of the oven door. It's hard to say without knowing the model # of your range, but if yours is the style without the clips you should have 4 torx screws around the four corners of the inner panel where the glass is. You would just remove those 4 torx head screws & slightly lift up on the inner panel where the glass is and just start on one end & pull the seal out. My stove model #JCB840SJ1SS brand is GE. My door does not have the 4 torx screws you are referring to. The stove door looks like the door you are working on in the video replacing the broken glass door. It looks like a friction held gasket. I managed to remove the old gasket with a lot of pulling but now I can’t slide the new one in place.

@@dogdog6630 I looked up your oven model # & the original gasket part # was WB04K10022, GE replaced that gasket with a new part # that is WB35X29668 & the gasket is black now. There's 3 different style gaskets for the GE ovens. There's the style with the 4 torx screws around the inner panel where the glass is that I referred to in my last comment, then there's the style with the clips on the gasket which is the style I have in my oven door glass video. Then there's the style you have, which is the most work involved in changing the seal. You don't have the clips on the oven door seal, you don't have the 4 torx screws around the inner panel where the glass is, yours is the style where you have to take the door apart to install.

To replace your oven door seal, have a flat surface area like a table or work bench with a towel laid down to protect the oven door glass. -Open your oven door about 6 inches until the door will rest open at the first stopping point to where you would leave the door opened a few inches to allow the heat out. -Leave the door at that position & lift the door straight up & off the hinges. -Lay the oven door face down with the handle on the bottom & hanging over the edge of your work area. - Loosen the two torx T15 screws at the top which connect to the handle, but don't remove them all the way, just loosen them enough to unthread from the handle or the spacers will come off. -Next remove the four 1/4 inch screws across the bottom of the door. There will most likely be 2 screws together on each end at the bottom of the door, you can leave them in, but remove the 4 screws in-between those. -Then grab ahold of the whole door & flip it over & lift off the outter glass door. -Now you will be looking at a silver metal trim plate around the door seal & door glass. Remove the four 1/4 inch screws on the silver metal trim plate & lift off. Remember which end was the top & bottom. I believe the top will have rounded edges & the bottom will have slanted cut edges. -Next lift off the insulation around the glass -Now you will see the oven door seal, but there will be a metal frame over top of it. There's four 1/4 inch screws at each corner of the glass that hold the frame on, once those screws are removed, just lift the metal frame off the door & remove the seal from the groove it sits in. (Since you removed your old seal already, you can skip that part. -Get your new seal, & hold the two ends together, & grab where it folds at the other end which will be the exact middle of the seal. -Once you know where the middle of the seal is, start installing it on the groove at the top middle off the door (above the glass). -Hold the middle and go to one corner, and once you get to the corner, move your hand to that corner to hold the seal as you go down the side of the groove, and do the same at the bottom until that side of the seal ends. Then go back to the top middle of the groove and do the same down the other side. -Once the seal is installed on the groove, put the metal frame back on. -Then put the insulation back in place, & reinstall the silver metal trim plate. -Now lift the inner door off the table, & lay the outter door back on the work area with the handle face down & hanging off the edge. Grab the inner door and lay it back onto the outter door & reassemble. Good Luck Dog! Make sure you Subscribe to the channel bro 👍

I got mine from GE, I have an account with them. You can order from them as well, or you can get it from any appliance part website online, such as parts select or parts dr. Just get the model number of your appliance, and type it in on one of those websites and it will list all the parts & select oven door glass of that's what your looking for.
