As a maintenance man myself, I’ve never seen an oven that clean in an apartment. LOL!

LoL I agree that one is really clean, but I do see quite a bit of clean ovens cuz alot of people don't cook at home nowadays, especially with the oven. Thanks for watching Duane 👍

Having the same issue with bake and broil not working. Tested the element leads with my multimeter and got 120v (neutral to one lead is 120v/neutral to other side is 120v). Checked direct voltage and got 0v (common probe touching one element lead and hot probe touching the other element lead). Checked continuity on the elements, both are fine. Checked continuity on the thermal fuse, it’s fine. The board on this range doesn’t have exposed relays to test like the one in your video. It has to be the board, no?

I found a refurbished one for mine, much cheaper, but I got the black already on it and my stove is white. My wife likes it so it stays. 😋

Haha, happy wife happy life! Sometimes you can find a good deal on a good used item whatever it may be, but then there's times you can't or just want new with a warranty. But nice find on the board & glad it worked for you. Thanks for watching Chris & Subscribe to the channel if you're not already. 👍

Question I am new to this how would I know where to put the tester on the right wires for voltage
@ApartmentMaintenance Жыл бұрын
Honestly if you aren't sure where to put the tester you shouldn't use it until you get some more knowledge otherwise you could get hurt. You would need to understand electricity, know how to read a wiring diagram, & know the appliance you are working on. It's not something you want to go and mess with unless you have some experience or with someone who does that can show you the proper way so you don't get hurt or damage the equipment you are working on. Hope that helps.

I’m on my second oven with same issue. Is it possible that I could be doing something to cause this? I had my oven in my last apartment for over 10 years with no issue.

I don't think it's anything you're doing. It's just a faulty part but crazier things have happened. Thanks for watching Candace & help support the channel by subscribing 🛠️👍

I have a GE oven stove top doesn’t work and neither does the oven itself. Bake or broil. Everything else comes on such as the clock in the settings. Is it possible to motherboard is dead for the heat part top stove and bake and broil oven
@ApartmentMaintenance2 ай бұрын
@@ThePacman7869 If the clock/settings work but the burners & oven don't work it sounds like your only getting 120 volts to the stove instead of 240 volts. This might sound dumb, but pull the stove out a little & check the plug to make sure it's plugged in all the way. I've had one do this before from the plug not being in all the way. Good luck. @@ApartmentMaintenance thanks for the reply. I’ve done this. It’s hardwired in no plug.

@@ThePacman7869 Could be a bad breaker than. One half of the breaker could be bad or the wire could be loose inside the breaker & not making connection. I would definitely start there since it's hard wired in. If you're comfortable with electrical & you have a meter, you can check for the proper voltage at the breaker.

I’m confused, you said you were looking for 0V from L1 to the Yellow wire if the board was sending power to the element, and that is what you got, why did you condemn the board?
@ApartmentMaintenance2 жыл бұрын
Great question! I was looking for 0 volts & then OL which both readings checked out properly, but the board wasn't turning the element on. You can hear the relay click at OL then go to 0 volts right after. It shouldn't go that fast through OL & 0 volts. That clicking of the the relay is turning the element off & then right back on cuz it hasn't reached the set temperature. Problem was, the element wasn't coming on which is why it would click right back & continue to cycle through. I knew I had the correct voltage (240volts), the element was good, & the only thing left is the board. With not having the bake & broil elements working, that's a very good sign either you don't have voltage or a bad control board. Showing that I was reading what it's supposed to show but no heat in the oven tells you it's a bad board (of course knowing the elements are good). Thanks for watching Brian 👍

Does this stove have a thermal fuse?
@TayTay33 Жыл бұрын
My breaker tripped and we flipped it back on the oven worked initially but not since, now the broiler element doesn't work and neither does the bake element, the stove top does. Do you think that's a control board issue?
@ApartmentMaintenance Жыл бұрын
It sounds like it. If both the bake & broil aren't working then I'd say it safe to say it's the control board. Thanks for watching TayTay & Subscribe to the channel 🛠️👍

How were you certain it wasn't a thermostat issue?
@ApartmentMaintenance Жыл бұрын
These ovens have a oven temp sensor & it would still work on bake or broil but the temperature would be out of wack. For both elements not to work it's definitely a board issue. Thanks for watching Ayehotah3887 & subscribe to the channel bro 👍

If my stove, broil and bake elements aren't heating but the display has power... Does that mean control board, as well?
@ApartmentMaintenance Жыл бұрын
More than likely. Obviously it's hard to say for sure without seeing it but the chances of both elements going bad at the same exact time are pretty slim. I would lean towards the board since it's the only other thing it could be other than not getting 240 volts to the range. The clock only needs 120 volts to operate. @@chaselyons2033 Your losing one of the legs of power then. Either the cord is bad, the terminal block is bad, or one of the wires is loose, broke, not making a connection. You can unplug the oven, then unscrew the cord from the terminal block & make sure all three wires at the end of the cord aren't touching each other or anything metal, then plug the cord back in & see if you have 240 on the two legs of power on the cord. If you do, then you know the cord is good & it's the terminal block or a wire on the stove. If you don't, then it's the cord.

@@ApartmentMaintenance so I have (left to right) black, white in the middle, red on the right. Underneath those is green. -black to white is 240 -black to red is 240 -white to red is 0 -all of them to green is 120. I had my tester on the wrong setting the first time I tested, my fault!

@@chaselyons2033 You should have: Black to Red: 240 volts Black to White: 120 volts Red to White: 120 volts Black to Green: 120 volts Red to Green: 120 volts You said you had 240 when you put the meter on Black to Red so you know you're getting the full 240 volts at the end of the cord, but not into the stove when the cord is hooked up. So it sounds like you need a new terminal block or something is wrong with one of the wires on the back of the stove where the Red or Black wire from the cord hooks up to.
