GE Profile All in One, issue?!

We have been running our GE Profile all in one every day for over a month. Today, it failed to finish a dry cycle. I think it was because there was an update to the software when I opened the app?! I restarted the dry cycle manually. I will keep you posted on how it goes. #geprofile #geallinone #gefail

I have had mine two weeks. No problem with regular loads. My issue is my large comforter is taking at least two hours to dry. I put a dry towel in the dryer to try and speed the drying. By mistake I rewashed the load with towel. After the cycle stopped the towel was in the bottom of drum soaking wet and the comforter was still wet.

Appreciate you sharing. Seems like this is an issue that could be fairly easily be removed by a further update (yes - there is some irony that the issue is triggered by an update!).

Hi! Thabk you for posting these its help me with my decision Alot!! I would love to see some towels coming out of the dryer once done pls 😊 maybe on the original cycle you choose and then once on more dry .. i have an older sytle top loader with an agitator and the matching dryer. Ive wanted a new washer and dryer like a fancy new set for for years 😢 but once i measured it was not possible due to the doors not the height or width. This could change my life ! Lol i even just wanted a fancier top loader washer and dryer set but could not justify the $2500 - $3000 price for the same look and still having to bend and strain same shit lol especially when mine WORKS like a freakin champ so this machine can make my life so much easier if it really cleans well and drys good thanks sorry for the novel but im excited 😅

Get it. I’ve had mine for a few days and already know I will never go back to a separate set. Same as you, many modern sets are too big for my laundry closet. My water hookup is on the wrong side and most doors don’t reverse so my options were limited. My dryer vent goes 2 stories straight up and is expensive to clean. Does it perform? Yes. Do not worry about towels, they will be dry and fluffy. That was my first load, a thick plush terry bathrobe, and several hand towels and two bath towels and many washcloths. All cotton, all very thick and heavy. I didn’t stuff the machine, and I think it’s important for performance not to overload it. No fabric softener, no static. My old dryer would leave bits of this bathrobe sopping while other bits were baked, but this was evenly dry and heavenly soft. I’ve always bought the top of the line top loader, I am very fussy about pre washing, extra rinse, etc. This GE has given me the cleanest laundry I have ever had.

How does it do with heavily soiled cloths? I know in the past I had to check them before putting in the dryer. Once you cook the grime on the cloths it's there forever.

@traybern "Cook" is slang, when and item heats up it expands, (Science!) when it expands those stain fibers move deeper into the fabric. I'm a medic, and if you don't get all the blood out before you heat dry the stain becomes permanent. Grease is another one that is a pain to get our after you dry the garment.

​@@RobTaylor1983that's what they mean, a heat pump dryer never gets too hot and always dries on lowest temperatures so heat pumps can't cook stains on to clothes even if they wanted to.

@traybern The only clueless one is the alternating CAPS guy that doesn't understand how condensing dryers operate. They still use hot air, its got a heat pump. They promote that fact in the advertising literature. It doesn't have a heating element so it does not get as hot as a standard dryer. Here's a quote from a review that tested this machine "The Normal cycle, for example, was able to achieve 100% water removal with a max temperature of about half a degree below 150°F. " That's a bit over ambient temperature, eh? Enough to "cook" a stain.

@@michaellevesque7032 Kind of like my all electric heat pump in winter... when it's not using the auxiliary coils in the attic air handler...even though it's keeping the house at set temp, the heat coming out of the vents doesn't feel very warm.. so I would venture to think while drying it doesn't get overly hot at all

I had this happen also but the app gave me the option to do the update later. In this case the dry cycle was not interrupted.

Like most appliances, it shouldn't be used in extreme temperatures, hot or cold. But kept inside a temp regulated house, the climate will not have much effect. The condensation happens inside the drum and no vent means no cold air creeping in.

There’s a compartment on the bottom right, you open the door and twist open the plug, make sure to place a big pan to catch the water

Water created through condensation of the drying process drains out the drain hose like all the other water. We figured it was already there, why not use it?

Ok…. So… the issue is that the dryer stopped, but then you simply turned it back on and it kept drying?? Am I missing something here??

You do not have to accept updates when they become available, but you would miss out on some cool new features and and improvements our engineers make to the appliance!

Does your room get colder when this unit dries? With it being a heat pump, it transfer heat, so in theory, it would make the room colder… I live in Alaska. Want one, but don’t want it cooling rooms!
