Thanks. I’ve replaced the filter and rarely used the ice or water from the fridge. GE literally wants the filter to be replaced every 6 months even if you turn your ice maker off and not use the water from the fridge. I actually timed when I replaced the filter. Didn’t use the water or ice maker. This is how they make $$$.

Yeah maybe timed rather than use of the filter. Although we use the water dispenser and ice a lot and notice the water flow slows the longer a filter is in there.

What helped me is holding down the water button for 3-5 seconds. The fridge chimed and reset the water filter notification.

On the door of the refrigerator there should be a 'reset filter' button. Hold that in for 3-5 seconds to reset it.

My filters piece refused to swing out. It acted like it was stuck. I just used a butter knife and very gently helped it swing out. It worked like a charm. (My fridge didn't have a filter in it when we moved in)

Most ge filters come with a chip if you don't buy gw filters most don't let you reset it if you buy aftermarket ones
