Wow, not only do you have to pay for this unit but you virtually have to pay for everything you watch. Where the hell is free TV? all this for $6.99 a month? Might as well stay with your local cable TV.

The $6.99 is just Apple TV, which is a streaming service like Amazon Prime, Netflix or Disney+ (which you can get on this). You don't have to pay that if you don't want Apple TV.

This hardware device just makes your Smart TV smarter and gives you access to all the apps that your current TV can’t give you. You still have to pay for subscriptions to Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. it is cheaper than buying a new TV so that is why people get it. Brand new TVs have all these apps already on it and you don’t need this device.

@@KML901 you get the latest and greatest apps on things like Firestick, Roku, etc. Streaming apps are becoming easier to obtain but streaming prices are still spiraling out of control. Before you want to watch everything you normally watch it’s still gonna cost you between 125 and $200 a month no matter which way you slice it. the only option is to have over the air TV if you were close enough to the market with a strong enough antenna. The only way you’re going to be able to record those shows if you have a working VCR with available blank tape. HD TV antennas do not provide recording ability.
