I was a bit skeptical but people, for all the crap you have to trudge through on the internet and KZbin, THIS is where it pays off. Just like the man said, I had a very obvious black plug about 1/2" long in the end of the tube. I dipped it in a cup of water and worked around (wasn't about to suck it out), flinged it around, it came flying out, plugged it back up, now the soggy clothes are enjoying their beautiful spin cycle! Chris you saved me a lot of headache and probably some cash because I don't have the time to tear this thing apart. Thanks so much!!!!

After talking a little I got on Google, found your KZbin video and emailed her the link. Within 10 minutes after she watched the video her washer was spinning. Chris, Thank you for your video. I tried your fix for my non-spinning Hotpoint and it worked! I have been searching for three days for a solution and am so glad I finally found your video. I did not see this solution anywhere else. I considered the motor (it's fine), the capacitor (don't have one), the water pump (it's working), lid switch (it tested OK). I had no clue what that tube was for and never suspected it could be the answer. My hats off to you!

Had to leave a comment again... had to do this again on our washing machine after my wife said that it wasn't spinning... I think I have done this at least a few times over the years, so I knew what the fix was... what works good is a stiff wire, and one of those thin drinking bottles for cleaning the straws out... a long one is best, so you reach up and clean further up, like 12"... back in business... my wife was amazed ! Thanks for posting this because it made me go through a day of trouble shooting my washer for why it did not spin during the dry/spin cycle.. Either the hose can be clogged or the air dome (the plastic box) on the side of the plastic tub can be clogged. DON"T TRY TO REMOVE IT OR YOU WILL DAMAGE THE TUB. If the air dome is dirty and water remains in it when the tub is empty, the air dome outlet at the bottom is clogged into the tub and must be cleared. If the air dome is dirty and not clear, clean out both the top and the bottom holes of the air dome. Any water should drain out into the tub when empty. Mine had accumulated water and would not drain. To unclog my air dome I first used an air compressor at about 40psi. I then used a syringe with vinegar and pumped about 7x 5ml through the air dome into the tube trying to clean it. I then ran the washer through a cycle with hot water trying to dilute the vinegar. Bleach could be used but it is more toxic. I ran it with bleach and hot water at its highest water level to clean out the air dome. It is not as clean as I want it because the plastic air dome still is not clear on the bottom. I think one of the dishwasher cleaning products, such as by Tide, might help clean out the air dome as well. In my experience, resetting the tub level selection switch by blowing into the end of the hose only worked for one wash cycle if you don't clean out the air dome. The automatic fill level still did not work properly on my Hydrowave GE washer until the air dome was unclogged. So, don't just look at the hose, check the air dome to be sure it is not clogged.

Great video! Thanks! One IMPORTANT NOTE.... DO NOT DO THIS when you have water in the tub. It will cause the vacuum actuator to take in water and the level sensor gets fubar'd.
