@@helpinguonline hi there. After I adjusted the pump motor to achieve the 1/4 inch gap when pinching the belt, I tightened everything back up. Tried a dry spin cycle and everything looks and sounds good. I then proceeded to turn the water lines back on and both had pressure and now have a drip/leak that was previously not there. Any suggestions?

I'm a single 63 year old lady. If I can do what you did in this video I'll be sooo happy. So far, I have determined that it's not spinning. Now comes the fun part... I'll keep you posted 🙂 UPDATE: It was too heavy for me to pull it away from the wall, so I started taking the clothes out. A long sleeve from a shirt had gotten wrapped around the middle thing so tightly that I could barely get it out. So I got all the clothes out and turned it on spin and it worked! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's fixed. Thank you for the video.

Thank you Sir. I wanted to say that your method of explaining everything was easy to understand partly because you were good about giving excellent visual representation as you explained everything you were talking about and your demonstration of the repair was easy to follow. Note: I don’t have much patience and was in a hurry so I had the playback speed turned up all the way on 2 over the entire duration of the video. So I guess you were slow enough for the people who need things explained slowly and got the more high strung impatient and comprehensive person like myself,Thank God the playback speed adjustment is just a click away. Thank you again Sir for sharing your knowledge and helping the American family Man like myself fix my malfunctioning appliances. God Bless you KZbin endeavors!

I've had the modern fancy shmancy versions and nope, I'm sticking to the older one, I removed this one from my old home and brought it to my new house years ago.

Hello Kind Sir, My 2005’ manual Maytag top loader/ not the one with led lights, does that same thing But while watching it go into the spin cycle for the last year I have noticed that when it starts to spin it Right before it gets to full speed you can hear the brakes engage and it slows it down and at that time it starts to agitate while it’s trying to get up to speed but the brakes are still keeping it slow spin, and I have noticed that if I stick my hard in there against the drum and let the clothes catch my fingers and knock it off balance where it is wobbly then and only then it will start to go real fast and then right before it hits Top Speed I hear the brakes engage and slow it back down again and then it starts agitating again you know to try to even out the clothes it does and then it starts to go fast again about up to 1/2 speed then the brakes engage and slow it down again and if I get the clothes so off balance that I have to keep my hard on the timer knob to stop it encase it wobbles outta control and then finally after the whole cycle THATS WHEN THE BRAKES WONT Work they won’t engage to slow it down and stop it and I have noticed also that the knuckles are pretty worn out in the agitator also but it is still working about 80% right I sure hope you know exactly what’s going on and can let me know what I need to fix and replace because it is the kind of washer that you can easily keep repaired when something goes bad if you can find out what the issues are last year when this started I made a video and posted it on my KZbin channel if Will please go to my page and click on my uploads it is the last video I uploaded so you will easily find it, Please. And keep in mind that was about a month after I started to notice that the clothes were coming out heavy like in your video but I have done 2-3 loads a day for a year now and it is a lot worse now But when I run the extended spin cycle again and I stand over it to try to keep the clothes outta Balance it will finally get them spun out but it is taking up so much of my time I am getting behind on all the other things I need to do on a daily basis, So I Sure hope that you will know what is wrong so I can fix it and again it doesn’t have the electronics and the led-lights. Thank You Sincerely For Your Time And if you can figure it out for me so I can fix it I will send you a generous donation president Grant Bill for your help thru PayPal or Applepay ✅ and I Am experienced back in the 80’s I worked at the appliance Repair Shop here in my town and I have always fixed any issues with washer and dryer electric and refrigerator’s to for me and my family members too But For Some reason I can’t find out what the issue is with my 2005’ Maytag Heavy Duty Extra Large manual Washer Hope to hear from you soon ✌️🏡🙏.

@helpinguonline2 жыл бұрын
If the belt looks okay I wouldn't change it...and if your problem was the belt glazing it would slip and probably not stop your washer from spinning completely. A glazed belt is one that has been slipping and gets a shiny glaze on it that causes it to lose its grip...like a squeaking power steering belt on a car

In this case, with a belt driven motor and pump, the washing machine would or could advance through all the cycles, especially if you have a slipping belt found on older machines like this one.
